I dont really care. If he wants money, that's his choice, but if there ever as a boxer who had no right to play the "Legend" card it's Calzaghe.

Never went Prime v Prime against Excellent Boxers such as RJJ and Hopkins who were in their Prime in their era.

It's pathetic the only decent guy Calzaghe went Prime v Prime with was Kessler, possibly Lacy, though he was relativley green and anyone with any knowledg about boxing felt Lacy was going to get KO'd anyway.

Calzaghe has never been the underdog, which says alot.

First of all Calzaghe had a fight agreed with Hopkins back in 2004. Hopkins pulled out and elected to fight a former SFW instead, yet Calzaghe gets the blame. He also chased Roy Jones but they couldn't agree on a fight. Calzaghe's problem was he never got the exposure that most boxers get fighting in the Olympics. He was also around the time of Prince Naseem who was a massive attraction so he was always in his shadow in the 90's. He wanted the big fights but he noone would fight him because he was too much of a threat for a very low reward.

Calzaghe was a heavy underdog against Lacy in USA and UK, I find it hilarious how many post-fight experts there are on this forum. As a matter of fact almost every expert predicted Lacy would beat Calzaghe aswell as the so-called experts on boxing websites.

But everyone knew Lacy was a hype job, yeah right. I'm calling bull****. Lacy was never going to be an elite fighter but he was very dangerous and Calzaghe destroyed him in every second of every round. Lacy was never the same fighter afterwards and SEVERELY injured his left shoulder in his comeback fight. Left hook Lacy without a left hook and mental scars is a crap fighter that Jermaine Taylor still couldn't even come close to mathing Joe's performance. Calzaghe is a special fighter and it's time for people to just accept it. Don't get me wrong Lacy was over-hyped and never going to be a great fighter but Calzaghe didn't know that at the time. Kessler is a very dangerous fighter and a level above Lacy, he gets no credit for that fight either. Hopkins is an ATG and Calzaghe beat him in his first time at the weight with a bias ref in USA (the fight was 100% on Hopkins terms) yet he gets discredited for that aswell. Even when Calzaghe was green he took on a very game Eubank as an underdog and won a pretty comfortable decision.

What else can Calzaghe do to keep people happy? A couple of months ago people said if he beats Pavlik he'd get peoples respect. lol. Now the momentum has shifted to Dawson, who when Calzaghe beats will be nothing more than another overrated fighter in your eyes. It seems alot of people's time here revolves around hating rather than talking boxing. Pretty gay to say the least.

I have a feeling that Joe will give his fans a send off in Cardiff. Whether it is going to be Dawson is questionable.

Either way i would love to see him fight once more and Dawson would mean a two division clean out.

Pretty sure Calzaghe was huge under dog in the Eubank and Lacy fight and Kessler/Hopkins were seen as 50/50.

i dont know its a pickem fight for me i think either guy is capable of k.oing each other witch makes this a great fight. AA hasnt fought anyone as good as pavlik yet so im not so sure
