The problem that most people overlook, is Vitali's jab. Once he times his opponents (usually first round), he completely destroys their game and makes them look awkward and tired. Every opponent Vitali faced, looked horrible/old/washed/never that good/out of shape. Circle one for Sanders, Williams, Johnson, Peter, Lewis - everybody looked out of order one way or another. The truth is, it's Vitali who makes them look that way. Haye will be no exception, once Vitali times Haye, his jab will destroy his game immediately.

Willard had a style very much like Vitali's and Dempsey utterly destroyed him not saying that will happen but the smaller guy has a chance if he fights the right fight.
Yes, but Haye is no Dempsey

yes haye, himself also, knows he does not possess a granite chin, and maybe he cant go hell for leather for twelve rounds, which heavyweight can. His training and fight strategy has changed and evolved since those early days. the kilits were fighting no marks at the same stage of their careers when haye took that fight. Thompson was tough fight for anyone, former world and european champion, past prime but still tough , for somone with only 10 pro fights. Haye learned from that fight and has now learned to box at a better pace and has gone into the latter rounds i.e the 8th, 9th and the 12th round.

You post like haye still that same fighter, thats like sayin wlad the same fighter now, as he was agaisnt brewster and sanders and we know thats not the case. He's a better boxer but takes less risks. Your a one dimensional poster, with a one dimensional arguement who cant get past being the klits little groupie.

i am a haye fan, i know he no atg , but vitalli apart from a great chin, not oliver mccall class chin is no atg neither. Both can ****, one has a better chin, but speed is the best weapon in the boxing armoury which favours haye.

vitalli will rightfully start a good favourite, but haye is dangerous as hell, and that alone makes this fight exciting.
        Great post!!

His 4 fights since then have been against Kirk Johnson who came in over weight, Corrie Sanders who despite having good hand speed and power was badly out of shape due to training on the golf course and after the first round was tired, Danny Williams who came in over weight and was never good enough or quick enough to beat Vitali and then there was Peter who was overweight and to slow to beat Vitali. Outside of Sanders who if had trained might have had a chance I think Haye is much better than all off those fighters and if his chin can hold up which is the big question he would be the first since Lewis to give Vitali some trouble.
After Vitali's long layoff there are still question marks over him, can he handle the speed off Haye does he still have the stamina to go a full 12 rounds while in a tough fight has he still got his punch resistance. Most people think Vitali will win easy but i don’t think it will be as easy as its made out and Haye has a solid chance.

Klitschko's best strategy is to pressure him for 12 rounds. Will Haye be man enough to overcome it? That remains to be seen.

Yeah but Sanders always had dreadful stamina. The Vitali jab is a big weapon but you can also use it to your advantage. All of Vitali's work comes off the jab if you can make him miss or neutralize the jab he wont be able to setup any off his work, but its very difficult to do as its an excellent jab, i don't think Haye is good enough to do that but who knows till they fight.

The only way for Haye to have a good shot at Vitali IMO, is to start pressuring him from the first minute and hope that Vitali will get tired/injured. If Haye lets Vitali use his jab from a distance, it's all over.

vitali isnt unstoppable, he doesnt like slick boxers who move lots (like haye) and have a boxing brain (which haye clearly has)......the guy is huge, its not natural for him to be bouncing on his toes going after a fast guy, and thats hayes big advantage....the speed disparity in this fight will be massive, (similar to pacquiao-de la hoya) all haye has to do is move, especially early in the fight, and catch vitali with power shots coming in, and then keep moving, bobbing and weaving his head as well

as the fight goes on haye can be less cautious, but will still have to respect vitali, who is a strong puncher and strong physically, he can start closing the distance and sitting down on his shots more, but will still have to move

if haye does this (which he is perfectly capable of doing) he can win a UD

it wont be easy, he will have to be on his toes the whole fight and be wary (could his stamina issues work in vitali's favour?) and we know his chin isnt great so vitali (and every other opponent he will face) will always be in the fight

but he can do it, make no mistake
