The numbers were published in The Ring Magazine and have been all over the internet for a long time now. Why people refuse to believe the numbers is beyond me. Between 450-500 is very good numbers considering it was a fight that didnt involve Oscar De La Hoya. Only reason Floyd got good sales is because he fought De La Hoya and Hatton and had that 24/7 show on right after the Sopranos to hype it up and everyone watched it.
Cotto-Margarito was a great fight and thats all we, THE FANS, should care about. We are not their promoters and advisors so we shouldnt worry about how much many they are making and ppvs they are selling. We should worry about seeing the best fights. To say Cotto-Mayweather or Margarito-Mayweather should never happen because past PPV numbers is ridiculous. Its ridiculous that boxing has come to this.
All I know, is that Cotto-Margarito was more exciting than any Mayweather or Hatton fight I ever seen and I hope the rematch happens this summer. Id rather see Cotto-Margarito II than any De La Hoya, Hatton, or Mayweather fight. Although a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would be pretty nice.
