"The MGM Grand Garden Arena seats 16,000. A disappointing crowd of 10,477 attended the fight. Puerto Rico vs. Mexico is still essentially an east coast rivalry. The bout would have been better attended had it taken place at Madison Square Garden or in Atlantic City. But Arum’s judgment was vindicated by the first post-fight pay-per-view numbers, which indicate that there were close to 500,000 buys."

The Mosley-Mayorga fight, which was held at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California on September 27th, was a financial disaster for Golden Boy Promotions, while Margarito is coming off a promotion with Miguel Cotto that did around a half-million pay-per-view buys.

damn you floyd!!!!
you have fight fans more concernd about ppv buys, and not the fight that took place...a shame how one man can change the minds of so many, who would have never cared about that before(ppv buys and attendance).....Last edited by HandSpeed303; 12-24-2008, 07:41 AM.Comment

Well when you got a fighter earning ALOT he ain't gonna face so and so for poket change. Money plays a big part in boxing...There ain't no fighter right now who best interest ain't moneyComment

i know money plays a part, i'm not saying that...it just seem that now a days folks go the rout of "why should this guy fight this guy? look at his ppv buys"....
really, i just question the reason for the topic months later...what does it matter?Comment
