Israel Vazquez Would Love a Barrera Showdown

WBC super bantamweight champion Israel Vazquez is still relaxing with family and friends while recovering from multiple surgeries to correct a detached retina in his right eye. That hasn't stopped him from going over all of the possible big fights for 2009. In the last few months, multiple fighters have called him out - including WBO champion Juan Manuel Lopez, undisputed super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan and Rafael Marquez. [details]

He wants to fight the best? He he is looking for an exciting fight he should stop ducking Juan Manuel Lopez. I know Lopez does not have a big name, but he is showing ALOT of potential. Its understandable thought that he wants to fight the older and war torn barrera, I think he knows he looses agasint JML

Barrera's only two defeats in "five years" were by "decision" to Marquez and Pacquiao. The Marquez fight was close and he did better against Manny than Oscar. He might not be as old as we think.

thats true huh. i was at the pac vs mab fight II man that was pac's most boring fight. but at the same time it was the first time he won a decision on US soil?

i dont know if it was cuz pac didnt train hard or cuz he became buddy buddy with MAB but even at the end of that fight pac climbed the ropes to look out to the crowd for approval???

I'm sure Barrera would love to school one of his fans.

I love Vasquez but, MAB is still good enough to run rings around Izzy and will knock him out in the middle rounds, Izzy might go completely blind after this...
