Wlad never fought Gomez in the amateurs, that's bull****.

Vitali KOed Gomez in sparring when they were both with Universum.

It's Wladimir we're talking about. And Vitali apparently knocked Gomez down in sparring. But that's only talk that cannot be proven. Gomez said he handled them. So it's his word agaist theirs.

'I can well remember knocking Gomez down when he was my sparring partner,' Klitschko was quoted as saying by Bild newspaper.''

Even if that is true, how on earth is knocking someone down the same as knocking them out?

''And, Vitali, in case you forgot how good I actually am, just ask your younger brother - he should remember!" In the amateurs, Gomez beat Wladimir Klitschko in Denmark

Ahmet Öner: “In fact I remember those times quite well because I have been a fighter myself at Universum at that time. I don’t think Vitali ever knocked down Juan. But I can recall some sessions where Vitali went out with a bloody nose after getting a good spanking from Gomez. You should not forget that Juan was already world champion when the Klitschko’s just kicked off their careers.”

Ok, the last part was from Öner and should be taken with a pinch of salt. But the fact remains that there's no proof either way.

I would bet my Life that the fight would go like both the chris Bird fights. Gomez really ain't that special at HW. He has feasted on Bums one of which KHTFO in the 1st rd. He has never fought any of threat at HW...well if you count a 40+ crack head with a steel jaw, then ok..

WK by KO in mid rds...just like the Bird fights...seriously would be a carbon copy

Gomez is bigger and more powerful than Byrd, and uses his feet better. Byrd used a lot of upper body movement. Byrd was slick and a southpaw, yeah. But that's it. Gomez is a different fighter. I take nothing away from Byrd, he was a very good boxer and showed a lot of balls, but Gomez has more tools to deafeat Klitschko.

What you're quoting is Gomez and Oner bragging...

Do you think Gomez *******-addled brain could remember such details?

And do you really believe Ahmet Oner? You consider him to be an honest man?

Gomez never beat Wlad, but Vitali did KO Gomez in sparring.

He KO'd him even though Klitschko himself said it was a knockdown? And even that cannot be proven.

It doesn't matter a damn who sparred with who, or who got knockout. What matters is that Gomez has been calling out the Klitschko sisters for years and for years they have been avoiding him. There is no excuse, either of them could have fought Gomez if they had wanted to.
