watched this fight earlier, wasnt impressed.

Guzman was a monster in the lower weight classes when he threw more and had more power. Now.....I dunno I just dont see him accomplishing much more. Especially because I see him having to move up to 140 soon.

This I can sorta agree with. Guzman ain't as offensive minded at 135...Same happend to Mayweather when he moved up but atleast Mayweather's power came up better. Still we shouldn't judge on what we saw on saturday considering that was 1 year+ lay off. But I understand what you mean

Im a Guzman fan, and I think Im just making my assumptions on how disapointing he has been lately. Didnt make weight, and then the way he fought Saturday. Hes been disapointing lately. I hope im wrong.

Its just that Fabio Oliva fight is still fresh in my mind. Man Guzman showed amazing skills, speed, and power in that fight and hes looked nothing even close to that since he moved up in weight.

Thats what happens when you chase Pacman. I found him to be very entertaining against Soto but his power is lackin...All I know is dude better get a quick fight or this fighter will become another waste of talent.

He reminds me of Naseem Hamed...but at least Hamed would knock people out and would fight more. Not a big Hector Camacho sr. fan either but in his prime he would stand and throw 5-6 punch combos he was super quick. To be honest Guzman reminds me of Hector Camacho Sr. at the end of his career, when he would just run all over the place and frustrate the crap out of the fans. ITS OK TO TELL THE TRUTH PEOPLE!
See, when you say stuff like that it means people who have actually watched Guzman's fights know that you have probably only seen one or two, at most, of his fights. You know why he used to be called 'Mini Tyson'? 'Cause he used to fight flat out offensive until someone got knocked out, which has never been him, and he has still fought that way for nearly every fight up until the Soto fight, because he knew that he could not KO Soto. Too big, too strong, too good a chin.

Go watch his fights before Barrios and including the Barrios fight and then come back and tell us if you still think he is boring and does nothing but showboat.

Man, this was one of the best short combo's I've seen thrown in a while. Check out the replay at 3.32 of the vid. He shoots two short left hooks, feints the right, then a fantastic short feint with the left which brings the right glove up from the opponent and makes him pop out the left jab before Guzman comes back over the top with the counter right and drops him.

****ing beautiful! That's just natural talent baby!

This is the yr 2008 and there is this thing called Youtube where you can see many fighters. Ok now that thats out of the way,,,
Listen Little Tyson was knocking guys out In the Domincan Republic (boxrec.) So what does that tell us...not much. Im sure if a Mexican Fighter goes to Aruba he will be knocking alot of guys too. We dont test ourselves against people not known for being good at something. I would test my baseball ability in America where the best come to play. Test my soccer in Brazil. Test my Rugby in Australia. Test Hockey abilities in Russia or Canada. You dont test your boxing abilty in DR....because if you do well then it doesnt matter. If you want to test your Merengue skills then do that in DR.
