nah, lorenzo was just flat out dirty. soto spent most his energy just trying to wrestle his arms away from lorenzo, he didnt have much of an opportunity to box or brawl.

true...but thats what it seems to me...i seen lorenzo clinching alot and soto trying to back off.....but lorenzo is flat out dirty.

didn't know he missed weight....that could have been a problem as well.....

I agree - Lorenzo was just trying to survive by any means, legal or not, otherwise he would have been KOed. Soto used up a lot of energy trying to wrestle free.

That could have been a factor but as I said, considering he fought his way up in Mexico, he must have had to deal with some rough housers.

I didn't realise he missed weight, so yeah, that's very possible. Maybe he thought it would be even easier this time out and didn't realise Lorenzo would come in firing and fighting like his life was at stake.
Yeah, his legs were pretty tired and he was taking really deep breaths in the corner so it could have been a combination of the pace Lorenzo set and the problems with weight that caused him to wear out down the stretch.

Lorenzo did fight with everything he had though, legal or not.

I had a higher opinion of him but he really didn't look good at all tonight. There was no fire or aggression despite all the cheap shots he took like a chump. Had Lorenzo tried that **** with someone like Margarito or Cotto they would give it back twice over and hand him his ass in short order.

Soto looked entirely too comfortable playing the role of victim for my liking. Maybe he is on the slide.
