      Leonard whoops Roy brother.

J/P, But I see Leonard beating him still. And I'm not basing it off of Leonard's comeback in 87.

yall are ****** dude i swear it. i never said they wanst great i said that srl wouldnt survive in this era. mike jordan is still the best, but he could gaurd lebron james get me?
You say it like you can justify it. Greats would be great in any era. A prime SRL would ****t on 99% of the fighters out there from welterweight to light heavy. The guy had all the physical and mental attributes to not be denied. Michael Jordan would **** on Lebron, defensively and offensively, ask Kobe what an older Mike could do to him. Btw Mike could actually shoot, Lebron can't.

Still doesn't make sense that you said Robinson would survive and Leonard wouldn't, if styles and rules truly were different then. I think you should go back and watch fights from the mid to late 70's all the way to late 80's. I don't think fighters from today would last.
a-raines, Hitter is trying to tell you nicely that you don't know ****t, take a hint. Welterweight is the story cuz that's when he was in his prime. You're talking like Leonard is from the first quarter of the century or some ****t. SRL still has some of the fastest hands ever seen with the skills, intangibles, and dedication to match. I doubt you've watched much boxing at all.

Since you haven't taken the hint, Hitter is giving you a test to see how ignorant you are. You took the bait. Cuz how the **** do fighters from the 90's differ from today? Holyfield, Tyson, Roy, Toney, and Hopkins all came up in the 80's and 90's and they were all still winning until not too long ago. What does that tell you about today's boxers?

Saying that Ali wouldn't survive in this era is like saying a shark won't survive in an ocean full of slower, weaker, lazy fish. If a prime Ali was here now, he'd ****t on every single heavy out there. He has that something that Wlad fears the most: an iron chin. That combined with all the skills

Rep. for you J. This contradicted himself the whole way through and you stayed polite. With the examples he gave, he sounds like he's nuthugging athleticism and disregarding overall skills. The guy said Lebron>MJ, Wlad>Ali? That's all I need to know about homies opinion; he needs to go back to boxing and basketball 101.

Yeah man, he can take the Meldrick Taylor award when he's inducted while they'll be rated ahead of him (not Calzaghe though).

Floyd simply has to fight the best fighters today to be recognized as THE best.

Someone else commented on here that he hasn't had that "Ali / Frazier" or "Hagler/ Leonard" fight that would put him over with critics and fans alike win or lose.

Floyd is a "businessman" so him and his team make "business" decisions. Most of his fans will make statements that he WOULD beat Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Pacquiao, etc. But the bottom line is that he announces his retirement after having 2 big money fights but still claims to be the #1 fighter when in fact he's only reached the Pinnacle of his career with more meaningful fights on the horizon.

If he stays retired (which I doubt) many will hold him as a great fighter, but in no way THE greatest (maybe not even top 20).

Having an "0" in the loss column on your record doesn't necessarily make you the greatest (check Rocky Marciano's career for that one).

Thank you QUELOQUE, I thought no one would notice how much this guy contradicted himself. I didn't want to be a prick, but I think he see's where he screwed up, because Leonard would pretty much **** up all welter's today including Floyd. It may be more competitive with middleweights like Jones, but with the amount of things Jones got away with in the ring he would lose. You can't keep your hand down against a guy like Leonard or Hagler. Also, styles haven't changed drastically at all since the 80's, I would like someone to point out where, if they think it has.

As good as Floyd is, I don't think he would have anything over Leonard except a brilliant defense, which Benitez did have. Leonard is faster, bigger, stronger, has more power and a better chin. Not to mention these guys used to go 15 rounds not 12.

I'll hit you with green k soon, but I can't give out rep right now.
