Your not going to win this argument. This was the most blatant ROBBERY that has ever graced a tv screen.
This is from the Yahoo website:

Evander Holyfield should not rematch Nikolai Valuev. Or fight anyone else, for that matter.

Yahoo! Sports scored it 116-112 for Valuev.

Maybe you never saw Spinks - Holmes II or Whitaker-Chavez?

Nothing happened to that because it never existed.

The criteria for scoring a fight does not include the stipulation that a close round should be given to the champion.

A lot of folk would think a lot of Brit's or any Euro's allegiences would actually be with the euro fighter regardless, especially against a yank whom they have fierce competition with.

Not saying that's true for everyone. But to say everyone's allegiance is with Holyfield just for talking English, is completely ridiculous.

It's way more complex then that, plus if the legend Evander was Chinese I still think a lot would have backed him (i.e nationality aside) for the pure reason he's a legend, good for the sport, 46, brave, fighting out of his country, taking on a huge huge guy, and doing more to win than the other boring guy.

That seems reasonable enough to me, but some of these kids are very emotional about their hero Holyfield.

Although I scored it a close decision win for Holyfield, it was far from a robbery. People should watch the fight without Al Bernstein's commentary turned up.

Holyfield did well last night and it felt good to see him perform well.

I think however that it would be fair to cite other non-english sites as well. This is an international sport and a lot depends on the eye of the beholder.

True, and that's why these is such an emotional response to the outcome of this fight. The fight was close, but there was no robbery. PEOPLE WANTED HOLYFIELD TO WIN.

Agreed! Valuev did nothing in the first 5 rounds and Bernstein couldn't get over it the rest of the fight. Valuev didn't do much but he won the second half of the fight in my opinion. Foreman vs. Briggs was 10 times more of a robbery than this fight.

After reading beggining of the article, i closed it.
Holyfield fought like he is 10 years older?
How did Valuev fought than, like 80 year old?

I disagree and so did 12,000 foreign Swedes who could see plain as day who was landing hard shots and who was missing most of the night. Valuev, for the majority of rounds, never landed anything of substance. Holyfields shots were clean and clear as day. Geography doesn't matter; scoring Boxing isn't that tough especially in a crappy fight with sporadic action. While, no, this wasn't Spinks-Holmes II (LARRY WON NINE ROUNDS WITH A TWO-POINT 14TH) at the point any judge saw Valuev winning more rounds, something sucks.
