So the promoter can't pay, he gets sued in court and it does Dawson no good....because there is a risk that a) he won't get paid b) the fighter takes a needless risk for the sake of a bs title and maybe loses a fight in the homeland of another fighter.

These are risks in Germany, but I would think it would be worse in Eastern Europe, but I could be wrong.

If you don't pay your bills from the previous fight, you can't put on another show.

A promoter not being allowed to be apart of significant fights takes away from sponsorships because TV won't get involved, so you're pretty much creating career suicide.

Look at Murad Muhammad when he couldn't pay his bills after Holyfield-Oquendo, have you heard him do anything of note since? Nope, not really huh?

Russia is pretty bad because they try to rob you on a budget. They offered an undefeated heavyweight prospect only $7500 bucks recently to fight a former heavyweight champion not too long ago. Talk about ridiculous, huh?

Hopkins has fought internationally (a draw in Ecuador against Mercado).

A star like Mayweather, Pacquiao or De La Hoya would never fight in another country because they can make enough money fighting in USA.

A guy like Vinny Maddalone, maybe not as much so he has to go overseas.
