Good **** Verse. Frazier was a monster. Sucks his career was so short. Had it not been for the eye problems and arthritis I think he would've been even more of a force.

I love his style better then Tyson's. I just love Tyson because it was more ruthless to me.
Frazier used that left hook like Ali used his jab.

Yeah Tyson's style was more ruthless, where Joe's was more of a methodical, break you down, style. His defense was pretty damn good too, and he gets next to no credit for it. When people talk of Frazier, defense never comes to mind because of his style. But even in that video you could see it, he was constantly ducking Ali's jab, smiling at him, with his hands at his waist.

That bob and weave style that Tyson and Frazier both had is a real ***** to overcome I imagine. The target is constantly shifting on angles and is never stationary for long, I'd be frustrated as hell fighting a guy with that kind of style.

Especially if he could bust you up like Frazier could.

To add, you don't really see that style anymore these days. I wonder why?

What a fighter. I was shocked when I learnt he was only 5"11.

A lot of guys used to hate when they couldn't touch me. I thought it was funny cause it was so easy for me to do. Although I couldn't counter well after I did it due to headgear vision.

Its a tiring defense, so that in itself should be given more props to do even when tired.

Yeah, anyone with that sort of style isn't going to have a long career. His plan was to just wear the other guy down. If only the likes of a Tua could have used the same sort of approach, he could have been deadly, because Tua had better chin. Frazier's heart was amazing, though.

It must come to certain guys naturally. Which explains the fluidity of it all, guys like Frazier and Tyson looked naturally relaxed when doing it. I doubt it's a kind of style that could be learned with practice.

And you make 2 really great points there as well.

1.) About it being a tiring defense. You must have stamina like a machine to be able to constantly bob and weave under shots like that for the full 3 minutes of every round, for 36 minutes straight.

2.) About it being hard to counter afterwards. Even without the headgear, you're in a crouch almost, and you're likely at eye level with your opponet's stomach or chest, so finding the target after a successful duck would be hard as hell. By the time you get focused and look up, the target will most likely be on the move.
