As far as skills are concerned............

What fights can anyone name off the top, where each of the two fighters possessed serious boxing skills? Not power vs. skill, or brute strength vs. skill, but fights where it was strictly skill vs. skill. Off the top, I say Pernell Whitaker Vs. Azumah Nelson. Guys?

Whitaker vs. Nelson was an odd choice. Nelson was far from unskilled, but he was a pretty powerful puncher and a strong guy, and used those qualities to win a lot of fights.

Ill say JCC vs. Whitaker though. p4p #1 vs. the #2.

Mayweather vs. Judah was a pretty good recent example, though it got ugly late.

I must concur. Too often people think of their trilogies as glorified brawls like their first fight, but you could really see the skill involved in fighting that kind of fight the way those 2 guys did. Especially in the third fight.

To some extent, I would also say the Vazquez/Marquez trilogy. Though not as skillful as the Barrera/Morales trilogy it certainly had some shining examples of high class boxing and it showed you why guys like that can't fight each other all the time.
