Cotto and Pavlik on the same card.....sorry I dont understand why they would turn that down. Yet Andre Berto can fight Miguel Gonzalez in a world title fight on HBO??? Cotto vs Jennings for a vacant world title and Kelly Pavlik vs Marco Antonio Rubio for the middleweight title would be a very good card for regular HBO in my opinion.

And they cant just say...hey lets put the fight on HBO, oh we cant? Then lets just throw it on Versus. There is lots of money, negotiations, and contracts involved. If you havent noticed, big name fighters dont fight on Versus. Versus doesn't have the money to put Cotto and Pavlik on one of their cards in world title fights. And the fact of the matter is Arum will make waaaaaay more $$ putting this on PPV than putting it on Versus.

I dont like the way it is either, but it is how it is. HBO turned it down so now hes doing his own thing. Hes not going to put his major fighters on a small network channel at his point. Maybe on their way up but they are both past that point.

Cotto and Pavlik are established fighters, and they need to be paid $$$ like they have been in the past maybe a little less. You need to make $$$$ to pay $$$$. Versus cant provide enough $$$ for fighters like Cotto and Pavlik. HBO can, but they didnt. So like I said before, Arum is now doing his own thing.

This is whats wrong with boxing when you put Cotto vs unknown Jenning and
Pavlik vs not so known Rubio....its pretty pathetic imo....
As much as i like to watch Cotto and Pavlik, this is not a PPV worthy card....

I understand the money part of the equation thats why I said Cotto, Pavlik and Arum must want too much money.

I disagree with Cotto and Pavlik being to big of fighters to fight on Versus. If they would both won their lasts fights then I would have to agree with that.

thing by putting Cotto against Gomez (a given win) Margarito is facing Mosley way tougher than Jennings. Margarito destroyed Cintron who by the way has a pretty strong punch. To really see if Miguel Cotto is ready they should have put him in the ring with Kermit Cintron.

                REASONS
                1. He's almost as tall as Margarito (Will give Cotto some more experience on fighting a bigger guy before Margarito again)
                2. Cintron has a devastating punch (Would test Cotto's resistance to heavy hitters)
                3. Would be a better test for him before the toughest fight of his career (AGAIN).

But instead they put him in the ring with a no name easy win not testing his will, heart & limitations. People say Floyd fought no bodies but if you compare
Cotto's & PBF's record you would see that Floyd fought tougher guys throughout his career but made them look like losers. Cotto toughest fights at Welter has been Mosley & Margarito who beat him so in actuality he hasn't really been tested until them 2. If Cotto hasn't learned from his lost from Margarito he will get beat worst the 2nd time.
                another floyd nuthugger

Economical with his words as usual but I like that. Good comeback fight, against a B level fighter for a vacant world title.

He and his team have always been careful bring him up in his career and they're just as careful bringing him back from a loss. Most fighters jump right back into a rematch but this is a good tune up for a rematch.

I swear in a year, the 24/7 series is going to be $19.95 PPV! I know from experience that it takes a HELL of a lot of work to put on a show, even a small-scale show, but the thing hurting boxing the most is the availability of the sport. Even for the most exciting bouts, $50 is a lot of money to sit on the couch YOU bought, in the house/apartment YOU own/rent, and watch a television YOU paid for. I hate to say it, but there is a very real part of me that loves to see shockingly low PPV numbers.
24/7 is not free. you have to pay for the hbo channel and then you could see 24/7
