He was past his prime but competitive. Do you give Calzaghe credit beating Eubank. By the way you are talking I don't really know.Comment

You give Calzaghe credit beating Eubank after 2 losses and 2 fights at LHW, and when he had to enter a 2 week regime to make 168.
But you would not give RJJ credit beating Eubank on his 3 losses at a weight he was planning to fight a a title for????Comment

Like I said before, Calzaghe was a prospect with no title fights. RJJ was the P4P King. Surely you understand the difference?
If Andre Berto were to beat Mosley at this stage of his career, it would mean more than Mayweather doing it.
I would give RJJ all the credit in the world if he had fought Eubank when they were both at 168. Why did they have to fight after Jones left the division? I dont get it.Comment

I get your point but the this thread really isn't about Calzaghe. But the weight issue. Mayweather gets no credit beating Hatton at 147 when he was in his prime. Would RJJ get credit if Eubank fought at 175, just imagine before Calzaghe fightComment

Its also funny that you say Floyd should get credit for Hatton inspite of the weight.
But you give Calzaghe no credit because of Eubanks weight.
Once again, please feel free to continue owning yourself.

So why do you keep bringing him up? This thread is about protecting Floydy, i got that.
Prime should constitute prime weight. Hatton had shown he wasnt suited to welterweight. If Floyd had wanted to fight a prime Hatton, he'd have stayed at 140. He moved to 147 and became champ, its his duty to fight legit 147lbers.
I dont do imagining. Its a lame comparison. RJJ would get credit for fighting Eubank at 168. And vice versa.
Try again.Comment
