what part of ANTONIO TARVER HAS A REMATCH CLAUSE IN THE CONTRACT is so hard to understand?????
if chad looks as good or even better than he did in the first fight, that fight CAN still happen. remember calzaghe said he was taking about 6 months off anyways. so that puts us in the june-july timeframe. but that's IF calzaghe plans to continue fighting.....
chad was the champ when he fought johnson. johnson had no leverage to get a rematch clause. chad and tarver fought for tarver's belt, so as champion, tarver put a rematch clause in the contract. did anybody here actually WATCH the johnson-dawson fight??? johnson hurt chad in rounds 10& 11 i think, but he couldn't finish him. it was mainly chads youth an inexperience that got him into trouble b/c the rest of the fight he CLEARLY outboxed glen johnson. hurting a guy for two rounds, but losing the rest of the fight doesn't give you a decision, nor warrant a rematch. chad fights smarter, he shuts glen johnson's slow ass out anyways.
problem is, tarver HAD NO SUCCESS in the first fight. he tried to lead, but dawson counterpunched, and was too fast and threw too many punches for tarver to do anything. then tarver TRIED to counter punch, but the problem was so many punches were coming at him so fast from dawson, tarver COULDN'T do anything. personally tarver will try to go "all out" in a rematch, because tacticly, he's too old and slow to fight dawson. like somebody said, the only way tarver wins is by KO. he lands a good punch, dawson fires 6 back at him. he has to catch dawson slipping, but i don't see that happening....as long as dawson doesn't come in "looking" to KO tarver, and make a mistake, this fight will be a worse beatdown than the first, cuz tarver aint getting any younger....
maybe b/c ppl acutally know who the **** tarver and dawson are. nobody knows a ****ing froch......foreigners want US tv time, maybe they'll start coming here to fight, instead of waiting till they're damn near 40 fights into a career, then expecting ppl to just "throw" them some expsure.....
