No real size difference between the two except that Mayweather has the advantages in height and reach.
Duran was 120 at 16 and Mayweather was 106 at 16. Mayweather could never go to 168 or even 160. That would be too much. He is quite small. Duran is naturally bigger than Mayweather

Mayweather win against Oscar is beating than anyone Duran beat at SMW. They were both 48 pounds above the weight they were at 16
and floyd was fighting bums at 20 what's your point?

everyone starts their career against weak opposition. that's how you buuild up your skills and pad the record.

besides......no champion or top contender would fight 0-0 guys just starting their careers.

duran and floyd are about the same size.

at 20 floyd was fighting at 130 and so was duran.

Styles help Mayweather out in this one...

Offensive minded fighters fizzle out earlier than defensive fighers when moving up in weight class, because... making fighters miss still works when you are in your 19th weight class. Hitting them with your money punch does not.

This is why Whitaker was able to whip Vasquez at 154, and Chavez could not do anything at 147, even though they were both great, great fighters.

Duran was very offensive minded, so he lost his effectiveness moving up quicker, and Mayweather was still able to pot shot his way to defensive victory at 147 and 154.

I don't see how that means anything. It might be that a 16 year old Duran matured (not sure if that's the right word to use) earlier than a 16 year old Floyd.

When they were both past their teen age, they weighed the same amount.

Duran started at a larger weight when he was 16 meaning that he could go up to SMW because his body allows him. Unlike Mayweather who CAN'T go all the way up to 168 nor even 160

I don't see your point really.

Duran was fat and out of shape at 160+ and survived with his skill alone.

The reason why Duran kicked ass in those weight was because he had GREAT defense on the inside, was slick...and for a little guy he sure could punch...he was a strong little guy. Mayweather and Duran are the same size...if Mayweather had Duran power or Duran skills on the inside then he could have possibly been able to kick ass at 160 or higher

I was just about to say that but changed my post. Duran was fat around the waste and his workrate wasn't nearly the same...
