**** all that. when you get in the ring and begin taking punches you never used to get hit with, let's u kno you're on the downside. when you're unable to take advantage of openings and land your own ****, lets you know its about over. no need for that crap you're talking about, it doesn't take a rocket scientist or some kind of special equipment to tell when a fighter's best days are behind. u think we need some electrodes and/or a nintendo wii to tell oscar de la hoya to hang em up? **** is waaaay overanalyzed nowadays.

The ref was aggressive for the first couple of rounds and then he allowed Hatton to get beat up on the inside whenever Ricky and Floyd exchanged blows.
I don't see the fight so one sided, really. Hatton won a few of the first six rounds. I had them tied going into the last round. Floyd was sharper in the end, but that was expected. What was not expected was the ref breaking up the action as soon as they fought inside and Floyd using his elbows so much. It doesn't matter how your elbow comes in contact with another fighters chin repeatedly, it is a foul in my opinion. If you watched the fight in a neutral mindframe, you could understand that. But you won't because I can clearly see how you look at the whole deal. You are a Floyd fan and nothing I say will change your mind, so I'll move along.

At least I am just saying that it's a diff fight at 140 with a diff ref, while you will admit no funny business from Floyd or the ref at all, no matter how blatantly obvious it was. No doubt Cortez had an agenda and If you didn't see it, it was because you were blinded by your nutthuggery.

and hes even more of a chump if he retired because his skills are slipping just a little bit.

Plenty of legendary fighters fought on past their prime and won.

          Floyd just isn't that great.

More Mexicans than Blacks on the p4p list.

Tell us why you're so mad.

              • as much as i love floyd as a boxer and i think hes one of the greatest to ever do it, the sport of boxing will remember manny pacquio as a greater fighter because of what hes been able to do. he has a country following him, hes destroying elite level fighters and hes the most exciting athlete to watch.

i would stop watching boxing for 2 years if they make this fight, thats how bad i want to see this matchup, and im sure 85% of fans feel the same.just how i felt when hopkins-jones 2 was about to happen, before jones turned into a punching bag. that fight would be huge and entertaining, two of the best ever in their prime, still young, both with blinding speed, i hope PBF changes his mind, even though hes a billionare and he doesnt give a **** what people think, this fight is the one that deserves the title "the world awaits"

I said he used his elbows and the ref was to aggressive what more did you want me to say? Cortez has reffed many fights throughout his career with no problems so if you think he was on a payroll or had a "secret agenda" think again. I couldn't even imagine all the excuses that would of come up if the fight went the distance. I was a fan of both fighters so your assumptions are off base. Also the fight would play out the same exact way at 140. Tell me what Hatton weighed in at the Welterweight fight compared to Jr welter weight. Once you find out that answer you will realize the fight would play out exactly the same way.

                  • Not trying to bash on Mayweather but he owes it to boxing fans everywhere to come out and face the #1 P4P champion in the world who is the Pacman. In order to win my respect, he must do this. Mayweather is in his "prime" as well as the Pacman and for two impressive boxers to come together in the ring in the height of their careers would be a pleasure for us fans to view. I hope Mayweather comes out and takes the fight with the Pacman. COME ON MAYWEATHER!!! JAT

Cortez has never been special or anything as far as I am concerned. So what he gets to ref allot of big fights in Nevada because he is friends with the commision chairmen. That means nothing to a boxing fan. As far as I am concerned, Steve Smoger*, Jay Nady and Weeks are the best officials in the game, hands down.

That fight was ref'd with an obvious bias mindset from Cortez. Whether it was a payoff, rooting for a hometown fighter or because the Brits boo'd the US national anthem, it will remain a mystery. I didn't just make up the circumstances about the poor ref job, I just easily recognized it and not only based on Hatton being one of my favorite fighters. He was treated unfairly and if he gets another shot at Floyd or not, it needs to be recognized. (not saying that he will beat Floyd, for the huggers) The gripe is more than an excuse. Floyd is marvelous, but Hatton is world class as well. The Hatton that beat Tszyu @ 140 would probably stop Mayweather, in my opinion.

On the weight issue, you know as well as I do that it doesnt matter what weight you come in at on fight night, what matters is what your body is used to. I know that it is easier to move up and maintain than it is to drop weight, but the point I am making is that Hatton is allot stronger when his opponent is near his best weight. His power and speed is compromised at 147 and while still very good, he is not as great as he is @ 140. That has been proven, so it is considered a fact at this point.
                      Peace.
