...the weight at fight time is irrelevant...if the agreed wieght is 140, then the fighter better be 140 at the weigh in...that's your concern with Floyd is draining himself to make the 140 at weigh in...if he can't make 140, then don't take the fight...if he takes the fight and signs the contract, he better make weight...if Floyd and Hatton/Pacman both weighed in at 140, it would be a different fight because Floyd would actually need to work himself down to 140...which for him, might be a chore...if Fatton can do it, then Mayweather can also...
Kabuki Joe
I undestand that point but for me, I would want a healthy fight between two healthy fighters.
This is why I can give some credit to Floyd for facing Oscar at 154. Floyd didn't try to steal the fight on the scales. Oscar not only had the fight at 154, but he showed up above 160 for fight-time. He also made Floyd wear "Reyes" gloves knowing Floyd could hurt his hands. Freddie even said he made sure Floyd had to wrap his hands a certain way.
Freddie is one smart guy.
Either way: BEAT THE FIGHTER AT HIS BEST AND BEAT HIM IN THE RING, NOT ON THE SCALES.
That's why the HW Champion will always be the best. There is no weight complaints.Comment

No, Cortez caused Hatton to get careless running in on Mayweather repeatedly because he knew he would not be allowed to fight his fight on the inside. It was only a matter of time before an accurate puncher like Floyd caught him doing it. Use some common sense at least.Comment

No kidding, this is a must see and I wouldn't be surprised if Arum's team already contacted the Mayweather's with regards to a May 09 fight.
PAC vs. Money
Headlines read something like this:
"Who Pulls the Trigger First"
PAC VS. MONEY

Maybe they're already gone. I've heard of a new training method that lets you know, through electrodes and something similar to the Wii console, if you have slipped or not provided you have a prime reading for comparison... it is possible to measure reflexes, speed and activity (footwork). This is only coming to boxing and will make possible to fighters know if their are shot or not effectively. If this kind of DATA becomes public it will completely change boxing. I know for a fact some fighters already use this.Comment

Either you take one side or the other. Hatton is flawed, but so is everybody else who ever boxed. Otherwise they would never get hit. It was obvious to see that Hatton had abandon any real gameplan by that point out of fustration after realizing that with Floyd elbowing him repeatedly and the ref seperating the action constantly, he would have to just come in and catch Floyd to have a chance to win. In my opinion, Hatton was in the fight for the first half and would not have got caught had he stuck to a gameplan and didn't get flustered in the moment.Last edited by Chase8400; 12-18-2008, 02:15 PM.Comment
