I know that 5 pounds is not a big thing to us, but 5 pounds is boxing is like 15 pounds to a regular person.

When you are an athlete in ANY sport you must be at your physical best to achieve peak performance. Am I wrong? Well, Bernard was not at his peak that fight.

And 175 is better for Joe not Nard because Bernard fought at 160 his whole career, and skipped SM. Joe was the heavier fighter over their entire career.
Do you undestand that Calzaghe had never fought at 175 before and Hopkins did? This is absurd!!!!

I'm a fan of both fighters and I find this sickening. Bernard can't lose a fight fair and square, nor be gracious in defeat. Neither can some of his fans.

PS: If Calzaghe hit nothing but air, can't punch, and is so crap that people refer to him as Cal***gy, why the hell didn't Bernard walk straight through him and knock him out? he was slapped around by a girl who can't punch? How embarrassing is that? And what makes you think he'd be able to do better if he dropped 5 pounds? Remember, Calzaghe is a f a g, isn't he?

Tell you what, don't even answer. I guarantee it will be another ******ed post and a waste of my time.

Naw I love B-Hop, but the reason I am saying this is because people act as if Joe is the better fighter and has more credentials than B-Hop. I get home and see all of these Joe bull**** threads and I am like WTF!! Bernard fought him at 43, and lost a SD at a weight the he fought in ONE time before and totally skipped 168.

Did people forget that he skipped 168?? They had to have to say that 175 was more Bernard's weight than Joe's weight. Joe was the heavier fighter his entire career. Saying that it fit Bernard better is absurd.

          What you forget here is,

Calzaghe moved up 7 pounds in weight. Most of which was muscle, which would slow him down and cause him to tire more as well.

At 170, Calzaghe would also be faster, and closer to 168, his best fighting weight.

Bernard fought there ONE time and skipped 168 entirely.

How is 175 better suited for Bernard and not Joe when Joe was heavier his entire career??

Go ask Iceman John Scully. He will tell you himself that Bernard is a natural light heavyweight.

                PS: John rates Calzaghe.

                  It's really not...

Hopkins was the physically bigger guy, he had fought at 175 before, had fought at 170 before, and juat a quick fyi, Hopkins has fought at 168 in his career.

not so much the weight, but the way he had shaped his body for the fight against pavlik, vs the way he was vs joe. he did not use mackie shilestone vs pavlik, and said he was not so bulky, and more fit vs kelly than in relation to how he was vs joe. not sure he'd beat joe, but i think he was in much better "boxing" shape vs pavlik.
