Chris Byrd was not only better than Joe Calzaghe, he had a bigger heart and balls.

In fact, this is one of those "time for an apology" responses from the thread starter for being ignorant.

Calzaghe would adapt to the range disadvantage, how? Closing the gap with foot speed? I think you'll agree that the Klitschkos both have snappier jabs than Calzaghe.

Calzaghe is too square so he wouldn't be able to slip the Klitschko jab. Plus adding on the weight to be able to make the heavyweight division would bog and slow him down.

The added weight would lead to his premature fatigue and make him much easier to tag.
I think the biggest problem here... is how Calzaghe is going to reach either Klitchko's knees

will he bring a stool? A chairlift? maybe he'll be fighting on stilts?

Forget the Klit brothers...does anyone think Joe would have gotten in there with some of the fighers Byrd did? Like Ike Ibeabuchi, David Tua, and yes, the Klit brothers.

No way he beats those guys, Calzaghe's defense is nowhere as good as Byrd's. Everyone one on that list stops Calzaghe early.

calzaghe rarely hurts anyone, he wins by outpointing you which he has mastered. its sad he broke his hands because he does have power to ko both in his prime.
Best answer I've ever seen, spot on.

calzaghe is far slicker than byrd and faster.
Valuev vs Calzaghe would be an explotion....

Byrds style was diffrent to Calzaghe, Byrd was a great defensive fighter with a good chin.
