he was a tough guy and a skilled boxer

he could have had a far more illustrious career if he was brought along more carefully

but its not like he was a failure, he was a two time world champ with some great names on his resume

      Thank you.

Maybe some of you experts can go to Oxnard and give Feroz some boxing lessons since you guys know everything.
      Show and prove............

Yep, El Feroz deserves massive credit for daring to be great at such a young age and so early on in his career.

He was the youngest Super-Middleweight Champion in the division's history at the tender age of 21.

In the space of 2 years, and before he was even 23, he had fought Yory Boy Campas, Raul Marquez, Winky Wright, Ike Quartey and Felix Trinidad, with only 2 tuneups in between. He was definately on the road to being one of the greats.

Unfortunetly for him Tito and his destructive handwraps seemed to take alot out of him and he was never the same since that fight.

People look at the juiced up version vs Hoya, and his losses to Mosley and Mayorga now and say he was always overrated. That is a travesty. Fernando Vargas was a damn good boxer and should be remembered that way.

Everyone knows that his biggesst mistake was fighting Tito so early in his career. The guy could've been one of the greats, but whatever youthful prime he had was beaten out of him in that one fight.
