So ever since the Cotto fight he's been shot? You obviously don't follow boxing as a whole, strictly British boxing, eh?
Malignaggi looked like a very very good fighter prior to Cotto, he still didnt have any power but was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better pre Cotto. Slick footwork, fast feet, fast hands, nice jab, nice head movement.
What happens next? Cotto. The man fights his heart out and gets beat up really badly in process (incase you weren't aware of this).
Paulie is applauded for his courage and his stock kinda goes up due to the amount of heart he showed against Cotto
and then what.........................
look at his fights post-Cotto (this means after the Cotto fight, you coward) and it becomes more and more apparent that he's past it (and borderline shot)
Cotto couldnt put him down with all that firepower and Hatton rocked him BADLY. That itself is a sign.
I could elaborate more but i've wasted enough time on you.Comment

first off, Hatton didn't just lose to Floyd... he was completely humiliated and outclassed... he didn't deserve to be in the ring with someone that much better than him
second, his record is far inferior to Calzaghe's.
Calzaghe has quite a few high risk/low reward names on his record that he was beating during his SMW reign... you probably never heard of them, but that takes nothing away from them as fighters and challenges. Hatton lacks these solid wins bolstering up his resume, he went from beating bums, to beating shot fighters, to getting the **** kicked out of him by a great
Calzaghe has never looked out of his depth against the world-class fighters he fought... or if he did one time against a contempary great, comparable to Money May, in Bernard Hopkins, he managed to adjust, grit his teeth and sc**** a narrow win regardless (and old Hopkins is not to be dismissed as he showed against Pavlik)
Calzaghe notched up 3 wins that blow any of Hatton's boxing achievements out the water in a relatively small space of time (Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins) when he was approaching the end of his career
his wins over the likes of Robin Reid, Chris Eubank and even Richie Woodhall eclipse Hatton's wins over a very, very far gone Castillo and an avergae Malignaggi
oh and if you just compare their pure talent, Ricky isn't in his league eitherLast edited by S.G.; 12-17-2008, 05:07 PM.Comment
