I think this sums everything up

only true losers find victory in defeat.
Reed just worded the thread title wrong. Its not that we'll give him credit for "losing" to Marg. He'll get credit just for stepping to the plate win or lose.

Cotto can't avoid punches just like Hatton can't. That's why Margarito walks through guys like them. Their defense is trash.

were talking about a fighter who never mans up to a real challenge... always picks on the weakest link in the division... so to finally step up and take on one of the best at his weight, he would get credit for it... as soon as the fight was signed and announced he would get credit for it... if hatton mayweather II comes to fruition, floyd will be bashed for it.... floyd-margarito comes to fruition, i believe floyd will be respected for taking on a challenge

if Mayweather LOST to a guy like Margarito, it would mess his career up bad just like it's completely turned Cotto from "maybe an all time great" to a "wow, he lost to THAT guy?" type of fighter.

Cotto is now just an exciting fighter rather than a great fighter. Nobody praises him for losing to Margarito. What exactly is there to celebrate other than an exciting fight for fans? What is he Gatti now where you measure success by how exciting your fight is?

Hatton's fans would pay to watch him wack off in Wembley.

What is this warrior bull**** mentality.

so how exactly are you a Roy Jones fan when he did more cherry picking in his career than Floyd could ever hope to do? all his tough fights came early in his career (B-Hop before he was good and Toney 14 years ago), which is what people say about Floyd. They say all Floyd's toughest fights came at 130 and 135. Somehow I don't think Ruiz at heavyweight is comparable to De La Hoya at 154.

how the hell can you knock Mayweather and post up a Roy Jones Jr avatar and sig?

Every Margarito opponent is faster and more skilled.

Hasn't stopped Tony from piling up close to 40 wins now.

Using that "slow" excuse just doesn't cut it anymore. Actually, it never really did.

Certain fighters just don't want to tangle with the Tornado.

They're scared to lose to a slower, less skilled fighter.
