you are correct! Bruce Lee was pretty much the first big successful "MOVIE STAR" fighter. He was are the VAN DAM of the 70's! Made fighting look good. He was very talented and fast as **** but wouldnt be anything agasint modern day REAL fighters. Although I wouldnt mind seeing him in there with Mayweather with boxing rules... anyway no hate to Lee. I enjoy his outlook at fighting and I really enjoy his movies, just as I do Van dam's movies!!! Now chuck Norries was the ****!Comment

This thread is kinda hilarious...
Comparing Van Damme to Lee? Chuck Norris would've beat him? LOL...didn't both Chuck Norris and Joe Louis (both Black Belt champions) leave behind their ritualized styles to train under Lee in the 60's? Norris admittedly said Lee would've killed him.
And as far as him not fighting professionally or not being a real fighter, do a bit of research if you know anything about the Downtown Hong Kong street fight circuit they had in the late 50's and early 60's with all the top fighters in the city (Wing Chun, Thai Boxing, Tai Chi, and some of the animal styles). They make mention of it in a few Martial Arts museums in Hong Kong. Bruce participated in a lot of those fights winning by KO the majority of the time according to eye witnesses as well as Yip Man (his 1st Wing Chun instructor).
Just seems a lil silly to discredit Lee when he's the reason MMA exists.Comment
