The top P4P Boxers have it easy, they barely train at all

    What....they have 2-3 fights a year?
8 weeks of preperation for those fights?

So altogether they work for 6 months of the year and the rest they have off, how can i possibly idolise or respect someone who works trains half the year.
Joe Calzaghe being an exception cuz hes in rainy Wales where the women look like swamp pigs, that said his gf is smokin hot!

They say boxing is hard but at best its a part time job lol

not really wild assumptions.. most boxers train 8 weeks for their fights of hard training.
though some fighters are gym ****.. they dont train as heavy when there isn't a fight lined up. like the thread starter said though, it's great being at the top.. they earned it to only have to work 6 months out of the year.

wont we all love to see them fight 6 times a yr so all these fantasy matchups that gets debated on here can have closures. but in reality, it's not only the p4p boxers, most B class or journeymen only fight 3-4 times a year too, very rarely 5.

training 6 months a year for a fight is still very hard.. anyone who has been in the gym and knows what it's like to train for a fight knows.

imagine 6 months of waking up at the break up dawn to run 8 miles. No sex for that time length. You can't eat what you like. You have to maintain and lose weight and train for the fight at least 4 hours a day.. sometimes more. Most fighters don't see their families while they are at camp also.

Are you saying boxers have it easy? It's hardly 'part-time'. All the sacrifices they make!! If they're fighting, say 3 times a year, if you include the training camp times for those fights it adds up to a lot of time.

And they have to keep themselves ticking over when not in training - unless their name is Mr.Toney
