u know what..everything i stated is a fact..thats not underestimating..thats just reality..he's just not as good as everyone says he is..not even close..that "monster" thing i hear is a complete joke to be honest..whats funny is that theres so many people making manny seem like he's kryponite yet if floyds beats him i hear "it doesnt matter cause thats expected" bull****..quite honestly i hope floyd doesnt carry his ass like he CLEARLY did hatton and a 160lb oscar, and just straight knock's manny the hell out..
If he fights like he knows how, like he used to, I'm with you; Floyd wins this if he still is intact Mentally and Physically.
Every time he opened up against Hatton and Oscar, what happened? He was whooping them. When Floyd opens up he batters opponents and confuses the hell out of them because he has wicked combinations from all angles.Comment

Pacquiao wasn't even prime and polished fighter when he fought Varrera and Morales but still he knock all of them and made them quit.. Pac beat Marquez twice..

Floyd beat Castillo with one hand...at least the judges thought so. He did fight him a second time...what did you think about that?
Margarito and Cotto: "I won't fight any Arum fighter." I still think he should have fought them and didn't like that he didn't, which is why I say his legacy isn't great at all at 147.
Oscar was past his prime; not shot. At least he was "healthy" when he came into the fight with Oscar.
Actually, Pac was a 147 pounder that fought at 135 pounds and had to move up past 135 because he couldn't make weight anymore according to Freddie. He also weighed 149 by fight time for Oscar; two pounds more than the corpse.Comment

I've always said we should always look at exactly where the opponent was in his career, so you are correct, but what about Floyd? What has Floyd done lately that has really impressed you compared to what he used to do?
I'll give you the KO of Hatton; I didn't expect that, but look at how he fought Hatton for near half the fight. I was in a room full of people that have watched Mayweather from the start of his career and they were yelling at the screen: "Fight, Fight, Why aren't you ****ing fighting." It was the same with his Judah fight.
Floyd fights to protect his "O" more than to win now...unless it is his physical status that is hindering his performance. Could be, or it could be all of the above.
In any of his fights at 147 I was never in the least bit concerned really Judah had his moments early but he was not dominating, Oscar fight did not seem close, Hatton fight seemed like Floyd could do what he wanted when he wanted, Baldomir was never in the fight. I guess your saying he should have done more in these fights, which I guess he could have but what he was doing was working really so I really can not fault him.Comment

Morales was also having big trouble making weight and asked for the fight to be taken up a division; Roach said: HELL NO. I actually posted my first "F.U. Freddy" post after that. It saddens me a bit because I thought Freddie was cool. I hit Pac with it too, but I shouldn't have even though he is the fighter and can make decisions for himself, but I understand his position as well just to be the fighter...so, I say I'm sorry to him.

I have pretty much watched Floyd's whole career. You are right that he does not fight the same at 147 as he did at 130. I do not really view it as a sign of not being as good though, it is just different. Floyd used to be very exciting and now he really picks and chooses his spots. I think Floyd is kind of turning into B-Hop really, as time passes I compare them more and more.

I've heard Floyd talk several times about his hands being really bad. I know that is why he had to switch to the "Winning" gloves for a while and even had to inject Cortisone into his hands for a fight, which I think he got in a bit of trouble for, right? So, I guess he couldn't do it anymore, so that means, more pain and less throwing. If that is the reason.
It's also the reason why Oscar made him wear "Reyes" gloves, which was messed up, but I did laugh at the situation since Floyd probably cried that night when he saw it in the contract...but the money made it feel better.
Judah was just not in control but he was winning the fight up until a certain point, on the cards...but I guess you can argue not in the actual fight. Floyd seemed to just wait until he saw Judah start to break down and then he hit the gas. But, I do wonder if at any point if in Floyd's mind he felt he was actually losing and now hoped he was right that Judah would break down by himself. This is where it gets tricky and why I said the younger Floyd would have never taken that chance: he would have just gone out in the first round and started to break him down.
This will catch up to him, which is why I suggest the Pac vs. May fight could wind up like Hopkins vs. Taylor (I) if Floyd continues on this path.
But hey, I'm not Floyd and I don't know what is going on with him exactly; I can only assume and that is never good. I am hoping it has more to do with him declining physically, even though I don't want that either, but it is more understandable to me than him declining mentally. He did say he now fights differently, even more cautiously because of his kids; this was right before Hatton. I understand a person can change because of kids and life/maturity in general, but damn, you are a fighter still fighting...can't it wait?
But I guess that is why he retired: all of the above convinced him that was the end. Mentally and physically he was ready to retire.
It's just sad to see a fighter just not have "it" anymore but at the same time, it is cool a person can change and mature into something else.
There is actually a great story about a King who was a great War General who later matured and ended up embracing Buddhism; his name was King Ashoka {Asoka}.Comment

But, I have thought about other avenues including asking Nevada. I also want to ask them about the glove size.
It would be great to hear a fighter's point of view. Maybe I'll try that avenue to by connecting to some fighters websites.Comment
