Looking at the fight againt, you can see Hopkins lands a really hard left to the body a few seconds before he landed that last body shot. I am starting to think that it was the first body shot that did really did the damage.

    Here take a look:

          I agree.

The shot that took out DLH didn't really seem that hard. When I think of the type of body shot that takes people out, I think of the crushing full force zingers that Mickey Ward would throw, or the shot that took out Dorin. I see shots like that and I say to myself "that guy isn't getting up", but the B-Hop shot didn't really look that hard to me. With that said, I didn't feel it and there isn't any real way to guess how hard it really was, so its all speculation.
Robert Allen, who has a light heavyweight build, was hurt with an identical punch. It's effectiveness lies in how sneaky and unexpected it is, not how hard it's thrown. Hopkins opponents are always on the look out for right hands so I imagine when he feints with the right and throws a left hook to the liver instead, it's a painful experience.

DLH took the nearest emergency exit and don't delude yourself about it. It was Hollywood all the way.
