Haye and Lewis are both British and are friends, so it's not surprising that Haye should ask Lewis for advice about a common opponent. Anyone would do the same in that situation. And I think Lewis has a good point when he says he (Lewis) was from a different generation from the Klitschkos, and that Vitali should make his reputation fighting his own generation instead of going on and on about Lewis.

I agree. It won't make any real difference, but it's already created headlines.

Unfortunately Haye has said he won't be fighting anyone in the meantime. I think he needs a fight against at least top 10 heavyweight before facing Klitschko, but I hope he proves me wrong.

You could have said the same about hundreds of fights that "everyone knew" would turn out differently from the way they turned out. It would be a big upset if Haye won, but there have been hundreds of big upsets in boxing. Vitali has never fought anyone with Haye's speed.

Vitali has an incredible jab - it's easy to underestimate how good he is. And he knows how to fight tall in order to avoid the punches of his opponent. He looks slower than he is. No-one else has come close to outclassing Peter the way Vitali did.

That would make perfect sense if he hadnt told both Wiiliams AND Sanders what they need to do to beat Vitali. I agree Vitali should give up on Lennox but to say " WHY cant he forget about me?" then side with all his opponents its kind of dumb.

Hide's a joke, he has no boxing talent. Haye would knock him out in 60 seconds.

I agree it's odd in the case of Sanders and perhaps Williams, although Williams was also British, so that's more understandable than Sanders. But Williams was so far below world class that advising him was pointless.

This misconception that the heavies once resembled the Welterweight division is farcical...
I don't agree. In Ali's time many of the fights were classics, and not only those involving Ali. Liston was powerful, fast and exciting, Patterson was fast and sometimes exciting, Frazier was fast and exciting, Foreman was slow but with an incredible punch that made his fights exciting. Norton was fast and exciting. Quarry was quite fast and very aggressive, and exciting. The Klitschkos would probably beat many of the above fighters if they could have met them with both being in their primes, but they are not exciting because of their styles.
