An old (37) Lewis fought a young prime Vitali, an old (37) Vitali will fight prime Haye, this is what boxing needs! funny thing is, if it was Mayweather who we would be talking about, not only he needs to fight younger guys to get credit but he needs to fight much bigger guys. Chad Dawson isn't the best light heavy, that should go to Glen Johnson. For a fight that almost everyone felt he lost except Chad Dawsons fans, he really didn't feel like shutting anyone up by giving Johnson the rematch. If judges knew how to score fights and we didn't have so many judges who judge fights like Julie Lederman in this sport, Dawson wouldn't even be undefeated.

Punching someone in the gloves does not count as landed punches, is it honestly that hard to be a judge?

Okay then Dawson should rematch Johnson and Calzaghe should with Hopkins because many people he didn't win that fight because he was hitting the gloves and throwing pitty pat punches all night.

SO if punching gloves doesn't count, then Calzaghe shouldn't be mentioned in top ten pound for pound. That all he did to Bernard in their fight.

He didn't fight the big names in his prime because in his prime he ****** just like he does now, so he waits till everybody is old, Fight bernard after having a layoff, but wont give him a rematch after a SPLIT Decision, and fought a man that looked like Roy Jones. He has to fight Dawson and Hopkins for my respect. Picking Jones is what is Killing boxing.

I think Shaun George makes a valid point.

You can't complain that boxing is dying when you've just had a fight that many feel was bad for the sport, and you are probably going to turn down a fight that many feel is good for the sport.

And I don't see any problem with Calzaghe-Hopkins, Dawson-Johnson or Dawson-Tarver. Nothing wrong with beating a 40 year old guy if he's one of the best in the division. It's only a problem when the 40 year old guy in question is without a notable win in several years that I'd criticise the matchup(ie. Roy Jones).
