Dawson beat Adamek, now unified CW champ, and did so very convincingly. Then he defended against two former champs. Dawson's 2008 was equal to Calzaghe's. Together they dispatched the entire old guard at LHW. It only makes sense for them to unify, and beating Dawson would make Calzaghe's career at BOTH 168 and 175 complete. As of now Calzaghe has had a perfect career at 168, but only a title with one easy defense at 175. If he were to beat Dawson there really would be nothing left to do.

That's not true. Dawson has three excellent wins in Adamek, Johnson, and Tarver. He has earned his shot at Calzaghe, just like Lacy and Kessler did.

Why are you so obsessed with the popularity of a boxer? Chad has beat Tarver, a tough Glen Johnson(who would give Joe trouble btw), and Adamek who is without a doubt right now the top cruiserweight in the world. Its not far off from Joe.

A good win against Tarver (Lacy, RJJ), a win over a solid undefated fighter in Adamek (Kessler) and a very unconvincing win against Glen Johnson (B-Hop) and he's the next best thing since sliced bread. Calzaghe doesn't need to fight this guy and he hasn't done **** to earn a fight with Calzaghe.
