Calzaghe has earned the right to retire. But if he fights then Dawson is the only choice. Who else is there? Carl Froch? Froch is solid but he should be looking to Kessler, Bute, or Taylor.

Dawson beat Adamek, now unified CW champ, and did so very convincingly. Then he defended against two former champs. Dawson's 2008 was equal to Calzaghe's. Together they dispatched the entire old guard at LHW. It only makes sense for them to unify, and beating Dawson would make Calzaghe's career at BOTH 168 and 175 complete. As of now Calzaghe has had a perfect career at 168, but only a title with one easy defense at 175. If he were to beat Dawson there really would be nothing left to do.
