Come fight time, they show the fight-time weights and you have fighters that don't weigh 140; but 149.

He then says: YO, Flawless, WTF; where is the 140 pound Championship bout you promised me???

    You say....

Wouldn't it now make sense to make this fight at 147?

On my note: why make fighters dehydrate themselves if they aren't going to be at that weight come fight time?

    It's a charade....that is what I'm saying.

If it is at 140 come May, it won't be for a 140 pound belt...so what's the point?

And even if you hand him a belt out of a cereal box, people will pay attention to the P4P thing and their Names more anyway.

It was the same with Hatton vs. Mayweather. Fight was at 147 even though both could have drained themselves to make 140, then rehydrated themselves by fight time.

but there was no point because they were basically the same weight come fight time and they weren't going to be 140.
I understand your point, but at junior welterweight Mayweather was 143 at fight night

IF fight happens at WW it would not matter ever since at WW they would both be the same weight come fight night

If we had to go by fight time weight; the fight scene with the fighters would look different.

Pac fought at 147 in his last fight.

There is nothing natural about draining yourself for a weigh-in and they sticking an I.V. in your arm to rehydrate.

      Natural is walk around weight.
Agreed you should rehydrate 5 pounds over one night, that is not natural

i'm telling you , benny......140 is a perfect weight for those 2. no point in them fighting at 147. they both make 140 easily.

plus i don't want these idiots around here saying the winner should fight paul williams or something.

140 is perfect. if he beats hatton it'll be for the 140 ring belt.
You know I have nothing but respect for you my Pineapple friend

No need even though I ripped Floyd for it.

All they have to say is: I'm fighting at 147, whoever can show up at 147 by fight time, since we are 147 pound fighters, I'll fight you.

These guys don't need divisions anyway...just fight.

They can just promote it Pac vs. May. Both can have in their contracts a cap for the weight.

i remember watching a castillo fight years and years ago.

the fight was at 135 and both guys (castillo and i forgot who he was fighting) was like 155 or so.

lampley was like , "look at the size of these lightweights."

merchant then replied , "yeah. back then they were called middleweights."

              it was pretty funny.

you eat food and you can put on 5 pounds; I've done it. Cool Brazilian place in downtown Philly.

True story: I weighed myself, then took a deuce, then weighed myself again and put on 1 1/2 pounds. Not sure how.

The 5 pounds was for the posters that said "what happens if fighters are over the weight-limit" by fight time...then what; cancel the fight? Now what Benny...asswhole."

So I said: "fine, so add in the contract they can put on 5 pounds, but no more. In the contract you can just allow it or, start taking away money for each pound over the weight limit. Anything over 5 pounds; it's a DQ if the opponent wants and the fighter that didn't make weight is now suspended for 1-3 years. I haven't decided on the punishment.

I want see PAC fight Hatton First but if Floyd cuts Ricky off, I dont care if they fight at 140 or 147, winner still needs to fight the current No. 1 of either division...
