  • Cotto vs. Jennings May Move To MSG, Says Arum

The return of Miguel Cotto may move from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City to Madison Square Garden in New York City. Cotto will face Michael Jennings of the UK on February 21 for the vacant WBO welterweight title that Paul Williams left behind when he moved up to junior middleweight. Cotto-Jennings will be co-main event to a split-feed pay-per-view being put together by Top Rank. The other main event will feature Kelly Pavlik making a defense of his WBC/WBO middleweight titles against Marco Antonio Rubio, taking place im Ohio. [details]

This sucks because Cottos team was puching the fight for PR, not BoardWalk or MSg. Cotto wants to fight here in PR for his comback. If they still doing that double headline card with Pavlik(wich I think is ******), I dont see why Cotto cant fight in PR if Pavlik is fightig in Ohio!!!!!!

Hey High Speed. Dont get pissed off . Is the only way they could put the fights on TV, because HBO didnt want the fights and they are HBO fighters. As a prick Arum is, HBO people are a bunch of jackasses trying to control every match possible, the same happen for Pavlik vs Williams, they didnt like it so they just turned off. Arum got pissed, thats why he is putting it on Top rank PPV!!!!!!

They are free agents. Showtime also turned the fights down. They wanted too much money and both networks thought the fights were ****ty mismatches.

Well Cotto is getting paid 3mills, because thats is stipulated in his contact with top rank, so I guess Arum have to pay for it now! I dont know about Pavliks situation tho'. But stll HBO is forcing people to fight the people they only want, pretty much. They did that to Pavlik. Thats why he had to fight Hopkins!!!!!!

I think they coulded workout something with either of the 2 networks.
