Ali Funeka. Funeka is really good by the way. There's a good chance of an upset in this fight.

Fuenka reminds me a bit of Paul Williams or Caballero. He's tall (6'0), lengthy, uses his jab a lot, has monster power (floored Zahir Raheeem multiple times and he KOd him in the 5th), and seems to box well. I was impressed with him against Raheem. The fight could be like Margarito-Williams, however I think Campbell will get the decision and probably win.

Except that GBP belt is the actual true championship. Campbell also has to fight Ali Fuenka and Campbell has stated many times that he is going to get that done first. It's perfect timing actually, this way it clears the schedule for this fight.

And it's not like it's a bad fight anyway. It's not like Campbell is ignored (by Marquez anyway), it's just that Campbell had things to do and Marquez comes first. ****....Campbell might have to fight Barrera after this, which would not guarantee that Marquez vs Campbell would be a signed away fight.

Because of Nate's bankruptcy stuff, we were willing to skip the mando and have Nate fight either Marquez or Diaz. Team Diaz initially agreed, and HBO had a March date for it, but then Savannah pulled out of the negotiations. Team Marquez said no from the get-go. So, we went ahead and agreed to do the mando with Funeka, as a one-off fight with King.

Is Marquez-Diaz a good fight? Probably.

Does it clear up ANYTHING at lightweight? Nope.

The Ring belt is not the true championship. It's possible to be the Ring champion but not the linear champion, and vice versa.

Fair enough; I didn't read those interviews so wasn't aware of that.

For some reason you left out the part of my post where I said "It's a good fight and I'd love to see it" and then you say "it's not a bad fight", which implies that I felt otherwise.
