Yes and a lot of people felt anyone could beat the current version of Hopkins. Unfortunately there are a lot of intagibles that different fighters cause which influence a bout. Fact is if a guy didn't move like Pac De La Hoya would have thrown a ton more punches. Styles do make fights. I'm sure you don't think Pavlik is going to walk in to his next fight with the same output as he had vs Hopkins.

Pavlik was overrated to the extent that people got hyper about him after the Miranda, Taylor knockouts. This is all it takes on this message board, you score some spectacular Ko'd and you're unbeatable.

I thought what happened to him vs Hopkins would've already happened against Taylor in their first fight. I didn't think as highly of Pavlik but he proved me wrong BUT it was because of Taylor. All Hopkins did now was set him back to the level most of us already thought he was. And that's a very good/solid but big middleweight who used his strength and heart to get to the top level. Against Hopkins, heart never came into play. He just got schooled in a boxing clinic.

great champions have their own time. oscar's time has passed and it so bad that his time expired with pacman whom he believed doesn't have a chance to beat him. oscar believe it was an easy fight. true enough, it was an easy fight for pac. i don't think nacho contributed much to the fight. his ward marquez was beaten by pac twice. so pac doesn't have to worry the techniques nacho would like oscar to do with pacman.
