I knew Oscar would have some problems with Manny because of the shots he took from Forbes. I thought that Manny's speed, volume punching, activity of being in the ring often, and determination to win would give Oscar problems. I initially picked Manny, but then I thought 'what if Oscar lands the left hook like he did in the first round against Mayorga?'. I never thought the outcome would be what it was. I don't think Oscar would have fared well even if he came in in the mid 150's at fight time. He kept saying how great he felt on 24/7. This fight didn't shock me as much as how Hopkins chewed up Pavlik like he was an amateur.
Oscar shouldn't fight again and should just enjoy his life and his silk pajamas.

The weight wasn't the problem, like I've stated before. It wasn't like he sat in a sauna for 12 hours to cut water weight.

He had a nutritionist who was getting paid a lot of money to make sure he was in a caloric deficit throughout training camp.

This also explains why he was able to lose so much, and yet only gain 2 pounds back on fight night. Most, if not all of the weight lost was lean muscle mass.

Respect to Nacho for being gracious in this interview.

There is no excuse to why Dela Hoya lost the fight except that he is now too old. Father time happens to everybody. He no longer has the reflexes to react and execute counter punch combinations that he had no problem with back in the 1990s. Whether he balloons up to 150 or 160 he still will not have the reaction time to counter Manny's speed. He's just simply too slow as of a result of being too old. He needs to retire and stick with his business interests. However, I won't be surprised if he lands 1 last fight just so he can redeem himself from this embarrassing loss to a much smaller opponent who was supposed to be crushed in the 1st round.
