You are telling me that without his natural born speed, he would have escaped with a decision over Johnson? That is the only thing that kept him in that fight.

I'm just saying, people are quick to discount tough, rugged fighters because of their physicality, but every fighter needs to rely on their natural born gifts, because a slow, uncoordinated guy with all the boxing schooling in the world is still going to lose a lot of his fights.

Yeah i dont think his hand speed was the reason he came through against Johnson.

I did not think Johnson was reluctant to let his shots go because of Dawson's speed, infact if Dawson had more pop and used less speed pitty patting he would of won the fight easier IMO

he never held his feet enough and and got any respect outta Johnson he was far to willing to conceed ground and let Johnson come on

I'm somewhat of a fan of both of them.

They both just throw... just because Williams is faster does not mean they don't try to fight the same.

And even if Williams tries to avoid punches, he is awful at it...

Margarito tries to block punches, so it's not like he just catches them on the face.
i got respect for money marg but he needs to rematch pwill if his fans want to call him the best welterweight.

here's a noteworthy saying: you have to beat the man to be the man

but money marg fans are making up all kinds of excuses like "money marg's resume is better so he's the man"...

when floyd retired, the vacancy for THE champ at WW went up for grabs and Wiliams and money Marg have to fight to fill that vacancy... as far as i'm concerned it was a 3 way race between cotto, money marg, and pwill, so now that cotto is eliminated, money marg needs to step up and fight pwill.
