I understand the majority of you kids that post on here are 15 year old chumps who still live with mom, but really c'mon.

Have a little respect for the guy.

I'm far from his biggest fan, but some of you guys are ridiculous.

And I do understand that this is a message board, and the fact that its pretty much anonymous makes some of you cowards say things that you wouldn't normaly say in the real world, but damn.
Dawg im witchu on this too...DLH carried the sport for many years...and like you im not his biggest fan per say but I do like the doode...however and this is no hate...I can't stand the fact that he quit in his corner...that is not acceptable...and for that he should get hated on...you don't quit on your stool...you just don't do it...

      @Makaveli..

Do people really hate it when a fighter 'quits on his stool' ?

I mean, I understand the whole warrior concept and fighting until the death, but this is unrealistic, and barbaric.

And actually, it was his corner's decision to have the fight stopped, which was done rightfully so, as it is their responsibility, above anyone elses, including the ref, to stop the fight if at any time their fighter's health is in danger.

This was clearly a case where their fighter was in danger, and had absolutely no chance of winning. So they made the right choice, IMO.

The aftermath of brutal beatings is so severe, there is no sense in risking it.

nothing wrong with quitting...ESPECIALLY when you're fighting someone that's your size...when you CHERRYPICK a midget to RESTORE your legacy and quit, that's another story...there's no doubt that PAC was tagging him but that kind of 'quitting' is more of a im-not-gonna-even-try angle rather than a where-da-****-am-i-why-am-i-seeing-stars kinda quitting...the prima dona wasnt getting his way and he didnt even bother to try

and it didnt really win me over that MAB-Fana, MAB-Peden were ppv

speaking of MAB, it didnt sit well with me either how he was unceremoniously booted out of GBP...i dont like how he didnt have the decency to take care of his FIRST major star...didnt bother getting MAB a rematch with JMM...

and now marco fights in cambodia for Don King

thanks oscam...another great deed for the sport

The sport was already in the mainstream. He didn't bring anything. He just picked up where Tyson left off.

lol, crush? are you serious? You're in a public forum.

I could care less if he was the body much less the face.

He has done no better than what Arum or King have done.

agreed...prior to DLH, boxing was on CBS, ABC, USA's Tuesday Night Fights...

Bob Arum MADE oscam...the same way he made floyd, cotto, and how he's making PAC....

what oscam did after leaving Arum was basically reinforce the lets-ppv-everything theory

What you fail to understand first of all is that the Warrior concept is not to fight to the death...it's to fight with honor and not to ever give up until you have done all you can...quitting on in your corner is not acceptable...getting Ko'd or TKo'd??? sure it happens to everyone...there isn't a pugilist alive (or dead) that was never in that position...sure the corner has the responsibility to throw in the towel when there is no more point in taking a beating...the athlete’s health comes first no matter what...but you know how that fight should have been handled and I would not have a problem with it???

Let DLH come out for the 9th...let him suck it up and try to land that left hook that we all know could have hurt Pac...and the second he got in trouble again throw in the towel...that's how the corner should have handled it...not the way they did...I know the argument is to say wut's the point?? Why wait until he is in trouble again?? The point is that you get to keep you honor and the warrior concept which is so very important especially if you are going to claim your Mexican heritage...so you lose the fight…it happens... but go out with honor and not like a coward…

I have to disagree with you here.

Health and well being > Warrior

Boxing is such a short career, why risk your health ?

Look at Ali, Freddie Roach, Sun Duk Kim (RIP)

I'm sure all of these guys had that same mentality, and look at where it got them.

Not at all saying that Pacquiao was going to beat Oscar into a coma, but its the cumulative effect that takes the toll on these fighters.

Any fighter that puts his blood sweat and tears into the gym, and then comes to fight on fight night has that honor, IMO.
