Oh and De La Hoya might have half ass thrown punches but that's what they were, half ass punches. He was pushing them out with no meaning and had nothing on them. There was no snap or crisp shots. Manny didn't fight a whole lot different from the way he normally does. He's a good fighter but the fact that Oscar looked like **** made him look better too. I'm not a De La Hoya fan really but facts are facts and truth is truth. Manny whipped a weight drained fighter that had nothing. De La Hoya still has no excuse for coming into the fight like that though. Next time he makes a fight, if he should make the mistake to fight again, he'll think logically and fight at a weight that is good for him and not rely on scientific diets to get him down to a weight he shouldn't be at.

Pacquiao didn't even have that extreme aggression with Marquez because he was thrown off a bit by waiting to be counterpunched. Marquez hits hard enough and precise enough to make him think twice. Granted he did get dropped in the 2nd round but you didn't see Pac jump all over him because he knows there's a punch that is waiting for him. It was a good and close fight but Marquez deserved the victory and earned it because Pacquiao was thrown off his typical game plan. If they fight a 3rd time Pac should win though because Marquez is getting up in age and that could be a major factor if they should fight a 3rd fight. Especially because it wouldn't happen anytime soon. Hell, even the people in the Phillipines gave Marquez a standing ovation when he went there to see Pac because they knew that he fought a great fight.
Pacquiao was weight drained.. Pac complained a lot.. In fact David Diaz should be the opponent first for Pacquiao before Marquez because he was killing himself making weight against MAB 2 and JMM. JMM is a good fighter but eh doiesn't deserve victory when you got KD 4-5 times.. THe judge admitted an error mistake that Pac should win the first fight.. In the 2nd fight, a weight drained Pac knockdown Marquez twice in the 3rd round that the Ref didn't see.. Overall Pac beat him twice so he doesn't deserve anything.

If Margarito fought instead of Pac at 147, the fight would be competitive and DLH will win many rounds.. Style make fights and Manny is a bad matchup for him.. DLH fought Forbes at 150 and it was a wide UD win.. He gave Mayweather split gift decision just a year ago.. Not taking away from Oscar's opponent but Pacquiao isn't Margarito would let himself get hit. .He isn't Trinidad who isn't elusive, fast and stiff fighter waiting to counter with his gloves up.. Pacquiao isn't Mayweather who pot shots and throws less than 10 punches per round.. Pacquiao moves from all angles making it hard for Oscar to hit him. .Don't ever say Mayorga, Trinidad and Fobes is faster than Pac.

Style makes fight and Pac is a bad style for him.

You guys are a bunch of phonies. Pacquiao doesn't have the antithesis of styles to DLH, the style was made for DLH. DLH either 1. throw the fight or 2. was severly weight drained. Don't hate on me for saying, just seriously ask yourself, 2lbs realy?

Oscar put on 2lbs overnight, lets be reasonable here please. How in the world could Oscar only put on 2lbs at 147? Manny actually weighed more than Oscar on fight night. Oscar didnt have his footwork and didn't use his jab.

Manny gets hit alot, and doesn't pack the most brutal punch. Hes just fast can take a hit and is strong. Oscar as just a broken man on fightnight.

Style wise Oscar wins, he just didn't take advatage of his gifts. Oscar wins this fight atleast 8 times out of 10.

i should have bet everything i own on Pacquiao. 3-1 odds? I'm happy for all the people who bet thousands of dollars on Pacquiao.

I told everyone...i told everyone. No one wanted to believe me. I knew it was going to be a mis-match, for De La Hoya.

I saw DLH at a press conference in SF. He didn't look hard. He didn't look like a fighter. He didn't look like a killer. I knew he was going to lose.

SO DLH is retreated to Puerto Rico until 2009? Damn, i'm sure that beating will affect him psychologically.

I "walk-in-the-park". So I think I;m going to bloody a fighter and knock him out. Why don't I make no less than 20 million, charge $54.95 for PPV, and put on a terrible undercard. yeah, this will be great for the sportm great for my legacy, and be tremendous for my wallet. Yeah, that's what I'll do.

                    Boxing is a brutal sport

Boxing is a brutal sport for those who fight a few times in several years. DLH is the epitome of a shot fighter, and this is from someone who has over 30 years of experience in watching boxing. You cannot be as inactive as he has been and take on a fighter as active as Pac. It wouldn't have mattered if it was Cotto, Margarito, Berto, Clottey, or any other top welterweight, he would have looked the same. He's a shot fighter, who most importantly, doesn't have the heart to fight anymore. Boxing is 95% mental, and he's lost his edge. Hang up the gloves, before you get seriously hurt. The difference between Hopkins (43) and DLH(35) is B-Hop enters every fight, knowing in his heart he is going to win. OScar, from Freddie Rach's own mouth, is labeled as a guy who is not real confident. In the fight game, you better be confident, or you will get hurt, real fast. Oscar, has been good from a money perspective for boxing, but if he decides to hang around, he will only help further alienate the sport from the mainstream masses. Who wants to paythis type of money to see a card as pathetic as Saturday nights? Was Oscar weight drained, probably so. The sad reality though, he was completely out of his league, and to quit on his stool, to a man 3 weight divisions south, shows his heart is not in it anymore. For the sake of true boxing fans, PLEASE DLH RETIRE!!!!!!!!

roach said it himself, pac is a bad style match up for dlh.

                      1) dlh has problems vs. southpaws
                      2) dlh has problems w/ speed
                      3) dlh is one handed
                      4) dlh doesn't know how to cut off the ring

the fact that dlh was dumb enough not to hydrate himself means he took pac lightly and deserved to get his ass beat.

imho, he would've had a better chance against money marg... at least then maybe he'd have taken the fight seriously
