DLH was coming off from a split decision against Mayweather and wide UD win against Forbes.. Do you even understand Boxing? Don't compare Mayweather who threw 2 punches per round and Forbes who just stand in the ropes and was a hitting target for DLH.. Don't forget Trinidad, Vargas and Mayorga doesn't have the speed, head movement and footwork of Pacquiao.. Don't compare Pac to Margarito who let himself get hit.. You're ******

While i know someone like ODLH has God's money, why is everyone feeling for him so bad? He underestimated a p4p king, as did I, and thought his former self at a lower weight would be enough to get the KO. The man probably banked $50 million+ fighting and promoting that event. I know, as I said, it wasn't about money for Oscar, but Jesus Christ, I don't feel ONE BIT sorry for him. It's the fight game and on any given night, well, we saw. Oscar should hang them up, I didn't want to see him in this fight and I CERTAINLY don't wanna see him after this. GG Oscar.Comment

delahoya threw 400+ punches while pac threw 500+ punches, how can you say dela hoya was totally shot and did not put up a fight? he fought alright but coudn't hit the PACMAN. ignorant people with their comments should try to get the facts first before throwing their opinions around. dela hoya is not totally shot he just look like it because of pacs speed and movement. u haters discrediting the pacman again tsk tsk, dont take this win away from the deserving fighter and current pound 4 pound king.Comment

Sorry, but DLH is shot. He couldn't throw punches. Think about how Marquez handled Pac (I don't mean he HANDLED Pac). Pac versus Morales I? No way these two guys are that much better than DLH. Don't get me wrong I think the world of all of those guys including DLH. But it is time to call it quits. Paul Williams and Margarito would pound Pac into the dirt.Comment

You're ******.. How can he throw punches if Pacquiao moves and circle around the ring very fast with his lateral movements.. Marquez fought a weight drained Pac and he still got beat.. Pac-Morales 1? Pac wasn't even prime yet still he beat all of them. A shot DLH gave Mayweather a split decisiona a year ago..
If Margarito fought DLH, the fight would be competitive because Oscar will hit him with his jabs and hooks. .Style make fights.. Don't ever say Mayorga, Margarito, Trinidad has the same style with Pac because they're very slow on their feet.Comment

I agree with what Arum said. I think that he got greedy and took the fight with Pacquiao. He figured it would be a big money maker and ultimately an easy fight for him. In all reality if De La Hoya was younger it would've been a decent fight for him in which he'd have either unanimously won a decision or even ko'd Pac. I think the greed of making 20 or more million dollars blinded him from thinking logically. He's 35 and moving down to a weight that he hadn't been at for almost 8yrs and then he actually dropped more weight then what he thought and moved to a weight he hadn't been in 12yrs. He went to a special doctor to figure out a diet for him. When you have to start doing silly **** like that then you shouldn't fight at that weight anymore. He looked like **** right when they showed him walking into the locker room. He looked worse as he was walking to the ring. He was completely drained. But that's why there's a difference between a hall of fame fighter and a legend. A legend would've willed himself into the fight. Oscar just conceded that he didn't have it and got the hell beat out of him. Hopefully Manny moves down in weight though and doesn't actually think he can contend with the top fighters at Welterweight cause they'll do to him what De La Hoya should've done to him. Oscar should just stick to his business and not fight anymore. He's done.Comment

dlh was weak, he only increased 2lbs, he was 147 fight night,
i mean he should of been 155 to 160 lbs to be healthy, 2lbs is just crazy nowadays;
he was dehydrated, was weak, not to take anything away from pacman's win......
dlh would of done a lot better fighting at his weight 154lbs it did affected him coming down to 147lbs, but this is what he choseComment

Pacquiao wasn't weight drained when he fought Marquez. He just didn't look well because he fought a guy that jabbed, gave angles and counterpunched the **** out of him. That's the way to fight Pac. If you're not as strong as he is with a good chin to go chest to chest with him than you need to box with angles. Marquez did that and deserved the win. Pacquiao didn't even have that extreme aggression with Marquez because he was thrown off a bit by waiting to be counterpunched. Marquez hits hard enough and precise enough to make him think twice. Granted he did get dropped in the 2nd round but you didn't see Pac jump all over him because he knows there's a punch that is waiting for him. It was a good and close fight but Marquez deserved the victory and earned it because Pacquiao was thrown off his typical game plan. If they fight a 3rd time Pac should win though because Marquez is getting up in age and that could be a major factor if they should fight a 3rd fight. Especially because it wouldn't happen anytime soon. Hell, even the people in the Phillipines gave Marquez a standing ovation when he went there to see Pac because they knew that he fought a great fight.Comment
