I don't think it's dying. I honestly don't understand why everyone keeps saying this. I don't know why Calslaggy said that.

it can't die... when people say that they are being melodramatic or idiotic

it might be on a slight downer after a very good era ('90s - early '00s) but it won't die, no.

Boxing has been on life support for decades and has been said to be dead countless times. Boxing will survive, it just needs the right fight or fights to capture the publics imagination, sooner or later there will be a bout like that again. Until then it will just meander along like always.

Nope, it will keep fading away though. At a certain point, when the massive greed subsides by the fighters and promoters, networks will be able to afford it again and boxing will rise out of its own ashes and become main****** once again.

What is killing boxing is PPV and million dollar purses. An example. Pavlik got 2.5 million to fight Lockett when he should have got 1/10th that amount. He did not deserve that kind of money just to fight a gimme fight. Now Arum in his wisdom decides to put Pavlik on another PPV coming off a loss.

That is the kind of **** that is killing boxing.

                  HELL NAW.....

Maybe in Europe. LoL. Just look at the figures. You're tryin to tell me that a sport that's "dying" generates millions and millions of dollars. Yeah right.
A sport that's dying can have a program called "ringside" which is dedicated to boxing analyists to talk about boxing for 3 hours? Yeah right.

Dude, boxing is not dead nor is it dying.

UFC is the number one spectator sport right now and can't even come close to generating revenues like that.

I think boxing is making a comeback.

The sport itself will never die. It's the fans and followers. Real fans like us have to pump it up, get it back on the main******. I garuntee you the average idiot out on the street can name at least one boxer.

Just keep talking about boxing. That's all we can do for the sport. Sooner or later people will jump on the ban wagon.

Totally agree. As long as some fighters are still making millions per fight, no it's not dying. People who are saying that are going over the top and it seems funny for Joe to come out with that considering he was involved in one of the biggest US PPV's this year. The only thing that hurts boxing is ****** match ups, we need to have the best fighting the best.
