Nope. The best fighter of the decade isnt the guy who got KOed two times by nobodies, and lost to an old Morales and got two bs wins over Marquez.

He's not Mayweather or Oscar who got the luxury of having a good trainer, a good gym, lots of nutritious food and everything else handed to them on a platter. He fought without proper nutrition and managed to become what he is despite those losses. Isn't that greater than most, even Mayweather's?

Here's a reasonable argument, last week....last f***king week (lol) you said DLH was an ATG and Vargas, Quartey and Mayorga were HoFers. You said this, many of us saw it and shook our heads in disbelief. Now after Manny wins you're turning your back on DLH and asking if Pac is the best of the decade. When did you become such a bandwagon fan? Also instead of saying I'm this and that or I said this or that, find the posts and back up your words instead of making claims then backing down with your "flame on" cowards way out comment.

Beat all the mexican greats like barrera, morales, DLH. So yes i would put pacman top on what hes achieved alone. If he continues to achieve even more, that will just elevate him even more so.

But when Pac beats people, people say he beat past it fighters. Its jus Pac made them look past it. Barrera was still great, and the way he stopped tough Morales.
Got to give it to him, especially when they said DLH and Pac shouldnt happen because it was a mismatch. For that criminal comment, Pac should actually be given money compensation.

I think it is reasonable to look at where the opponent/fighter was at in their career.

How many fights did the fighter/opponent have. How many tough battles was he in. How many times had he been knocked down or knocked out. Who was he fighting that could take away some life in his boxing career.
Did the opponent struggle to make weight.

Things like that.

If we didn't, then Holmes should be given credit for his win over Ali; same with Berbick over Ali.

Morales and Barrera went through some tough fights together.
And we all saw what Zahir did with Morales.

Everything has to be broken down.



For the topic: If we go with the most exciting fighter of the decade: he might get it; I'll decide later after I think it through. For accomplishments: have to think this through as well. He hasn't exactly come away clean in all his fights but he has kept moving up and had some good wins. He was great to the fans.

pacquiao fought barrera in 03. pacquiao is almost 2 years younger.

If it's from 2000, which means it is still going on and we would have to say, "up until now," then he has a solid resume and looks good in competing for the best so far.

He beat a prime Barrera. MAB was #3 P4P at that time and was untouchable linear champ at 126. They fought in a span of 1 year.. Morales was still prime.. He failed at 135 so he go back to his original weight..

Hatton failed at 147 and didn't bring his power and go back to 140.

and don't forget Barrera was the man at 126
Morales was the man at 130
Barrera bcame the man at 130
JMM was the 2nd best at 126 and became the man at 130..

Valero and Guzman didn't exist since late 2006. Plus Guzman is old too.

Tough call.

Mayweather is the better (classier?) fighter, but his resume doesn't contain the kind of names present in Manny's. That said, I believe Manny was extremely fortunate to beat Marquez (I'm not entirely sure he deserved the draw either) and I don't believe MAB and Morales were in their absolute primes.

A showdown between the two would settle all arguments. I think Floyd has too much for Manny. Too big. Too strong. Too smart.

On the surface of the ODH result it appears that Manny has tightened his game up significantly. I guess both he and Roach know he can't afford to continue to lunge in like a wild man whilst going up the weight divisions. Against Oscar the plan of get-in-combo-get-out worked perfectly. But will he retain that discipline against someone who isn't a walking punch-bag, as Oscar was? Someone who has a nasty (from Manny's perspective) habit of NOT getting hit and then hitting you back? I'm not sure.

Either way, both fighters are worthy candidates. Although, as has been mentioned, BHOP's achievements are pretty substantial also.

I vote for Danny Williams.
