Is Floyd Mayweather taking a risk fighting Pacquiao?

You know why it matters, because if and when Floyd beats Manny, the first thing Floydamaniacs will say is, "see, he just beat the best p4p fighter today, he doesn't need to beat Margarito or Cotto they weren't ever p4p number 1, so Floyd is all time top 5".
Trust me when I say that.
Floyd beating Margarito and Cotto does ten times more for his career than beating Pacquiao, who hes really supposed to beat.
I'd like to see him and Manny tangle too, but if he does, the justification is there to call him an all time ducker if Margarito and Cotto aren't in the plans.Comment

He'd be takin the risk of bein a hypocrite for fightin an Arum fighter. He'd also be takin the risk of showin himself to be ***** for that Arum fighter bein a smaller man when he coulda fought Cotto or Marg for WW supremacy before.Comment

If he fights at 140 without a tuneup then that can be a huge risk. Two year lay off and come back to fight at a weight which you haven't made for in a while..brings some risk, DLH was an example of that...well sort of....Either way other than that I don't think it will represent a risk, Mayweather is the better complete fighter of the twoComment

Floyd took a risk going up to 154 to face what many thought was going to be a victory for Oscar. Keep in mind, Oscar called the shots on most of the stipulations to give himself an edge.
Can Manny make that leap (to 154) and still look as powerful as he did against Oscar?
That would be a huge risk for the Pacman.Last edited by MindBat; 12-11-2008, 11:30 PM.Comment
