For the record, this is the same exact argument against Hopkins, by Joe fans, that Hopkins fans use Dawson for, to potshot Joe.

What does Calzaghe gain by beating Dawson? Virtually nothing, aside from a title and being the man at 175lbs. Dawson is still pretty green by my estimation, and his best wins are over 2 40 year old ex Champs past their prime in Johnson and Tarver.

What does Hopkins gain by beating Kessler? Even less, because the fight would likely be at a catchweight of 170 or at the LHW limit of 175lbs. So Kessler's title wouldn't even be on the line. Kessler's biggest fight of his career is a loss to Calzaghe, and his best win is over journeyman Librado Andrade.

Honestly, people need to lay off both Joe and Bernard. If either guy wants to hang them up right now, you can't fault them. Joe is 37 and has proven everything he can, and Bernard is what? Almost 44? And he's proven everything he can as well.

If they decide to fight on we just need to appreciate the fact that we get to see them one final time, and not nitpick over opponets and all this ****.

hopkins has proven that he is ageless when it comes to boxing and whoever puts that final asswhopping on him will do because they are the better man, not because hopkins got old. . .with that said, will somebody retire this garbage already. . .at least kessler is willing. . .

No way is Hopkins ducking Kessler, there would not be one reason as to why Hopkins would be afraid of fighting him. If he doesn't see much money in Kessler, or if he thinks he's not known/worthy enough, that's not ducking.

              Kessler is Danish.

Post fight presser Calzaghe said you two fight i`ll promote Kessler said "Im ready Joe" Hopkins said "If it leads to you" meaning if you give me a rematch i`ll fight Kessler.

Oh I get it, damn Bernard is crafty. I'd be all for it if it led to a Joe rematch as well. I'm confident in my man.

Really, it's the truth. If either guy wants to hang 'em up now, god bless 'em. And if they decide to fight on we should just enjoy knowing that we're watching history and not piss and moan about who fights who.

I don't care if Hopkins went out fighting Erdei and Joe went out fighting Froch. At least we get to see them do it again.

I think Hopkins at 43yo is as good as any version.

Wright, Tarver, Calzaghe, Pavlik his run of form is the best in boxing.

43 in boxing terms old but Nard is a freakin freak. Nest 40+ fighter ever.

Kessler v Hopkins is a great fight i got Hopkins in a close dec. 115-113 sorta thing.

Yeah and I agree. They both earned the right to retire. Hopkins earned it a long time ago.
