The lowest HBO boxing ratings of ALL TIME was Kessler vs Calzaghe. I'm sure Hopkins sees the $$$ signs in that!!!!

Listen, Hopkins is 43 years old and has one more fight. He's looking for a big fight, not a dud. He has absolutely NOTHING to prove, he's a legend, a hall of famer and an ATG. What purpose would there be in fighting a European fighter that no one has ever heard of in the U.S? What's the point in that?

          ****** thread.

Besides, imo, Kessler isn't much different then a Kelly Pavlik, only a bit faster hands. If Calzaghe could easily tame and figure out Kessler in less then 5 rounds, there is no question Hopkins would do the same.
          Ignorance is bliss.

Yeah, blow the last fight in your hall of fame career on a fighter most people barely even know, that's a smart move.

Look like Hopkins doesn't want to continue his career after all. Otherwise he wouldn't have turned Kessler down since Hopkins had a chance to look better against Kessler than Calzaghe did, thereby adding to the public demand for a rematch.

Look slike the end of Hopkins and that's a good thing. It's fitting for a great fighter of his caliber to retire following a great win over Pavlik.

Sorry man, but you know how **** works around here, and it don't work like that.

If Hopkins puts the beatdown on Kessler, Kessler either becomes instantly overrated overnight, people say he was picking on the smaller man, or people say that he was feasting on Joe's leftovers. Pick your poison. At the end of the day Hopkins gets no credit for it at all.

He's going to fight again though, he'll probably end up starching Dawson before retirement.

And if Kessler licks Hop Hopkins got instantly old and a prime Hopkins would have killed him.

BTW by NSB logic this IS a clear duck on Hopkins part.
