Labelling a fighter a circuis act is ridiculously harsh. That kind of **** should be reserved for the likes of Mundine and Ottke. Kessler is no circuis act. As I said his competition since the Calzaghe loss has been very disappointing but in no way is he circuis act material. He came within one fight of totally cleaning up 168.
Also, Floyd has fought all his career in the States right? Perhaps Mikkel has fought the majority of his fights in Denmark because it is where he makes the most money? When there are fights that make him more (Calzaghe in Britain and Mundine in Australia) he leaves Denmark. I understand that he needs to venture to the US to try and build up his name but it is hardly like he is just staying in Demark purely because he cannot be effective elsewhere. He is no Ottke.Comment

I find it hard to say that any of those mentioned are better than Sartison and Haussler. The 2 André's mentioned are way inexperienced. Bika is Kessler's former sparringpartner who said that Kessler is in a league of his own, while Green's claim to fame is a decision loss to crude Edison Miranda.
This is not a step up at all rather a way to market Kessler in the US. It appears that team Kessler has failed to get Hopkins and now resorts to another route towards a big fight. That route would appear to have at least a couple of PR-fights in the US.
Dirrell seems to be hailed as the next best American, so Kessler putting an end to any Andre's should shut the Americans up for a while. I'm not all that impressed with Green, but if Kessler lands Bika or Dirrell before a unification fight then game on!
Hopfully, a fight between Kessler and Taylor happens in 2009. That would pit the best two at 168, but the steps Kessler's team are taking to make such a thing happen seem to be progressing. Albeit rather slowly.Comment

The trouble Kessler has in 'stepping up' by fighting in the US is finding anybody willing to fight him... can anybody produce any evidence of a fight offered by a top ten US SMW that he has actually turned down? Thought not.
All the same, a pretty motley bunch with Bika being the best of them. He should be fighting one of Taylor, Bute or Froch. All would be great fights, IMO.Comment

Bika is a great opponent, a class above the likes of Sartison and Haussler. Possibly the best SMW (Taylor aside) without a major belt.
Dirrell seems to be hailed as the next best American, so Kessler putting an end to any Andre's should shut the Americans up for a while. I'm not all that impressed with Green, but if Kessler lands Bika or Dirrell before a unification fight then game on!

I hope Kessler gets Pavlik before Taylor. Being a Kessler-fan I dont like the style matchup at all regarding Taylor.Comment

Wtf does that even mean?
I have been the first to question Mikkel's recent opponents but there is no way he is a protected fighter or a "circus act" as you say. The man is the real deal 100%. He has shown that he is willing to go overseas into his opponents back yards to get big fights (Mundine and Calzaghe).
I would love to see Kessler go over to the States and face some higher quality guys. It would be great both for his own career and the US public who would get to see the best of an elite fighter.
Circus act, GTFOH.
