There was a minority emerging as early as the first 2005 rematch win over Erik Morales saying it...it got bigger after the rubber match victory over the same. Since then, the pound-for-pound debate has revolved at some point around Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather or, recently, Pacquiao and Joe Calzaghe. [details]

"Therefore those who know martial arts do not wander when they move, and do not become exhausted when they rise up. So it is said that when you know yourself and others, victory is not in danger; when you know sky and earth, victory is inexhaustible."

Fights I want to happen in 2009
1. Hatton VS Pacquiao for the Lineal Junior Welterweight Title. If Manny wins this will be a 4 Lineal World Champion
2. Juan Marquez VS Nate Campbell for the Linela Lightweight and unification of the belts. Whoever wins should fight Manny. If Manny wins he would be the a 5 lineal world champion
3. Margarito VS Cotto - Whoever wins should fight Manny. If Manny wins again he will be 6 lineal world champion (assuming Margarito wins vs Mosley)
4. Mayweather VS Pacquaio (if PBF ever returns)
5. JuanMa Lopez VS Israel Vasquez or Celestino Caballero or Penalosa
6. Vic Darchinyan VS Fernando Montiel (the winner facing Donaire)
7. Calzaghe VS Dawson or rematch with Hopkins
8. Pavlik VS Abraham
9. Calderon VS Ulises Solis or Edgar Sosa (The 3 should unify)
10. Wladimir Klitschko VS Vitali Klitschko
If all these fights happen 2009 would be explosive for boxing.
You? What fights do you want to happen next year? I hope the promoters have an online system in which the fans can vote on the fights they want to see.Comment

Big Up 1.2.3
I definitley agree with this P4P pound list. PAC-MAN gets the nod not only for what he has done to this point, but also the potential of what he can do in the near future against the likes of Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Juan Diaz, Zab Judah, and possibly the smaller welterweights like Berto, Cotto, and what ever will be left of Mosley after he faces Margarito. PAC-MAN must be appreciated for now and what's to come let's not take this time to witness a great. Calzaghe is a sure-fire Hall of Famer who's toughest challenge came a against the Ageless wonder and 3rd ranked P4P Bernard Hopkins. The Pride of Wales is a cerebral fighter with exceptional hand speed. The common factor between PAC-MAN and JOE is they are grounded individuals in their lives outside the ring with family, friends and country an intagible that today's American fighters don't see. Hopkins is the more of a GRANDMASTER of boxing than Grandfather. A cerebal fighter who has better defense than most people have offense skills, a throwback who is slowly paveing his own kind of legacy that will not be duplicated for at least another 50,60,70 years.
Appreciate these top fighters it has been sometime since we have had the class, showmanship and skill to grace the top spots as P4P in a longtime.Comment
