Pacquioa's victory has opened new horizons for smaller fighters

Fighters from the flyweight division can now pack on mass and challenge Bernard Hopkins or other middleweight contenders for their title.
Manny proved this but crushing oscar, weight has no meaning in boxing as of now.

If you can make the weight then the opponent has no real advantage except height. Jones proved it, so did Manny and so many others are doing so.
It was unheard of in the olden days of boxing (where they couldnt box for **** anyway) but now with nutritional knowledge and weight lifting techniques its all good.

Pac was an exception that made the rule in this fight, and of course DLH was old. It's doubtful all smaller fighters will see this as an endorsement to start puttin on mad weight and challengin bigger fighters.

But most people think just because a fighter starts at a lower weightclass somehow it automatically means he will lose to someone heavier than him.

            Look at Tommy Hearns

            Look at Roy Jones

            etc etc

People thought Hatton vs Manny Pacquioa was ludicrous but its pure ignorance on their part
