I mean if Paq beat him in a real fight, where we would see him dealing with an attack from Oscar, only to see Manny rise up and lay Oscar out. Then I'd have no choice but to tip my hat...lol But that **** last night was just some saggy lookin guy gettin hit at will. That wasn't a fight. That was probably the most disgusting attempt at a "Real Bout" I have ever seen in my life. And I'm a fan of Oscar! But that **** was ridiculous.
I never would have thought to see Oscar botch a fight like that, I mean he shows up to fight in every bout he's in. But to see that, it was boxings equivalent of a horrible TV show.
But yeah, Oscar can't retire like that. Not if he wants his career to be takin slightly serious.Last edited by MaYaN_SuN; 12-07-2008, 02:19 PM.Comment

lol Calzaghe and Paq are just wipin these older guys out without mercy. Between Paq and Calzaghe, watchin their careers is like literally watchin a whole time frame of aged and dusted fighters in Boxing just getting cleaned out.
But first of all, Oscar must have lost his damn mind comin into the fight that small. He couldn't even move his arms all night, he couldn't catch Paq with a glove the size of a ****in beach ball. That was literally worse, and 10x's more embarrassing then Castillo losing to Hatton. The **** was he tryin to prove by comin in that small? It made no sense at all strategically, whole time all I was thinkin about is why would he do that to his body? If he did that to his body as a way to make it appear that it WAS a fair fight, that means he started to worry about what people thought about him takin this fight. Which is just ******, **** all that insecurity ****. lol He shoulda focused on that 147 mark, and did his regular thing after makin the 147 mark, instead of killin himself.
But you know who Oscar reminded of? Of a old ass Roger Mayweather, skinny legs and that weird ass upper body. I mean Oscar looked like a old and depleted Roger Mayweather. He looked pathetic to say the least.
Now normally I'd be like "Now what does this say about Marquez? Marquez can put leather on Paq with pin point precision." But I mean Marquez got blitzed by Manny in 1 round and ultimately figured him out after that. I'd praise that fact right now, but thats Marquez. lol He knows how to fight. It's expected from him. I still think any fighter that can put good leather in Paq's face just ruins his whole fight game. But how many fighters has Manny fought that was able to do that for a sustained amount of time? lol Just Marquez and Erik. And Oscar was SUPPOSED to be on that list.
I mean this wasn't even a fight, it was Oscar looking WORSE then David Diaz. I mean even though Diaz looked like he was swinging through wet cement when fightin Paq, he was STILL swingin. Oscar on the other hand, couldn't throw anything, couldn't bully Paq, couldn't get away from Paq, and couldn't even put up any sense of offense. Watchin that **** was like watchin a twighlight zone episode, that was weird as **** to say the least. Then he threw one right hand at one point in the fight...And his right hand came out like a dusty old fart against Paq who was just chillin on his toes the whole fight lol. Right then it hit me hard, he didn't have his arms in gear, he was just dead in the water. And the fact Paq CAN NOT fight guys who put leather in his face, and there's Oscar, who's great with his hands......WITH ABOSLUTELY NOTHING to throw back, that was way beyond shocking. Oscar didn't even make it a fight in the slightest. Then if thats not bad enough, lol Paq actually started to get to Oscar...lol Oscar....a ****in guy who's never even appeared to be hurt, lol and this ****in small ass guy hurts him and makes him quit!?
...Jesus
lol Paq was born with a horse shoe up his ass or somthin, well not really. Thats just phenomenal match making for his time spent fighting in the states. With the exception of the Marquez fights and the first fight with Erik, lol everything works out perfect for this kid. lol And now he get's Hatton...either Hatton's glass chin shows up, or Hatton's gonna be thick enough to handle Paq's shots and bully him around all night.
I just don't think we'll ever see Paq in a fight with someone who can match his speed and youth. lol I give up on that, it's just not gonna happen. The closest we'll see to it is a 3rd fight with Marquez.
-------------
As for Oscar, lol I actually thought he would beat Margarito at 147 right now, but I take that back. Marg's a work horse and if Oscar "likes fighters that engage with him," well....depending on how Oscar would have dealt with the weight preparation, I think there would have been a good chance that Marg would have put him through a meat grinder.
Now if Oscar want's to save his career, he needs a rematch and needs to approach it realistically. **** all these special diets for "his blood type" and tryin to come in at 145 lmao. That was flat out suicide. But all that most likely won't happen. We don't even know if it would even matter if he tried to make 147 more carefully, he might end up just as depleted as in this fight. He could take another safe fight at 147 to see if it's possible to prepare properly. THEN go onto a rematch with Paq with a better routine for the weight, but thats really really really reaching. So if it's not a immediate rematch, he has to fight Forrest or Trinidad in a farewell fight. He has no choice, if he takes that fight and even makes it a close fight, I think he'll be able to show the world that the weight loss for the Paq fight turned his whole world inside out. If he gets TKOed again for a back 2 back, then you know he's done.
Cause Oscar can not retire by way of TKO against Manny Pacqiaou lmao, if he does his career will be close to nothing. Cause that was just beyond horrible. I mean gettin stopped by a fighter like that in a circus event? not only did you embarrass yourself, but theres a major chance you literally lose any validity your career might have had. I mean talk about one of the ultimate back fires.
I don't even think ODH should fight again. Blame it on age and hope his legacy is strong enough to withstand all the letdowns. I doubt it can. It is unfortunate that here we had Oscar DeLaHoya...olympian...a young world beater...a class act in a sport of thugs...the non-heavyweight money in boxing...GET GREEDY. It was greed that ruined Oscar. He should have NEVER messed around with the much too big Bernard Hopkins (no hope of winning) and the much too small Mannie Pacquiao (nothing to gain and everything to lose). Take those two fights away and Oscar's legacy is in tact.
Now even Mayweather's close decision win over Oscar is under severe scrutiny. Just how good was Oscar? Everything is suspect now. The business of boxing has just been exposed. Mannie Pacquiao ripped it to pieces last night.Comment

The funny thing about delaoldya coming in at 147 on fight night is that i recall reading that delahoay must come in at 147 on fight night. And I didn't pay much attention to it cause i thought that was bull****, turns out it wasn't, it was in delahoyas clause to comin at 147 on fight night. And im sure that will be brought up again soon. And i read about that months ago in one of the articles here at boxingscene.Comment

lol Giiit the **** outta here, thats the only way you guys get on the map.
But I give up, we just won't see a live fight with Manny. I mean I actually thought last night was gonna be a great fight, but instead I don't think Manny has had an easier fight lmao. That was just flat out disgusting. That was WORSE then Calzaghe vs Jones.
line them up who's next lol.. pac ran out of mexican fighters. he's now moving to england. mission accomplished. targets terminatedComment
